My twin girls attend JW and are currently in 3rd grade. I cannot begin to express how much I appreciate every single administrative person as well as teachers since the beginning. We ran into some extremely difficult things not related to school that did affect school in a very real way through the last few years. If it hadn't been for these people whom I consider family, I honestly don't know what we would have done. From the top I would like to thank: Mrs Pratti, Mrs Watson, Mrs Jeckavitch, Mrs Vanvleet, Mrs Lairson, Mrs Morris, Mrs Morris, Mrs Webb, Mrs Ells, and Mr Williams as well as Ms Milk. You are all so special to us and we will always remember the interest you have taken in our children!

I just moved to Hilliard and my child is attending JW Reason Elementary. The staff is polite and helpful. The principal is caring, respectful. What I find very discriminating are the comments on this page on regards of non-english speaking students and the multicultural population being responsible for the delayed learning of the caucasian students. I am a proud puertorrican parent who's child is attending JW Reason and he is currently at the highest reading level for his grade! yes, a latino child! Great learning has no color, gender or race. JW Reason has teachers that care for their students and do the best possible to meet academic expectations.

J W Reason has pros and cons. Pro: The principal seems very interested in advancing the school and getting to know the students, despite not knowing some of the special programs in the district. Con: The school is not likely to advance in overall test scores because of the LARGE population of non-English speaking students who, through no fault of their own, take longer to catch up with the rest of the class and therefore the pace of learning for other students is delayed. Pro: The staff we've had were very good teachers!! Con: The school building has limitations for technology because of its age. Pro: The parents who ARE active in the school, put their heart into it. Con: Becuase of the demographic, many parents are working and don't have the time to dedicate to school involvement. Overall: A good school but for parents who are actively striving to excel their child, perhaps a different school within the district would be a better fit.

JW has a very dedicated, caring, and positive staff and principal. What they accomplish in a 50+ year old building with a very diverse student population is commendable. I wouldn't send my 2 children to any other school. The overall learning environment is second to none.
