This school eats money like it's going out of style but does not produce results. It needs to merge with another district that can introduce some leadership.

Terrible school. Teachers don't know about the subject they are teaching. The school is not clean at all. A student spilled yogurt in a classroom in may, and it wasn't cleaned up until the following school year.

I have two kids in this system for 3 years now. They are learning and thriving there. They benefit from the tight knit community of teachers, parents, and administrators who care and are striving to improve each year.

Exceptional. Our child has flourished in this school system. One of a kind principal and teachers. Kind and professional staff from the top down.

since moving to HES in 2015, I can not say enough about our little school. My Children are very happy, love all the teachers, faculty and staff. I drop them off every morning knowing they are in great hands and are safe !!!!

My experience at this school is rated extremely high. The collaboration of the faculty, including all staff members and administration to providing a top notch education is by far, the best in the area!

Highlands is a great school that is continuing on an upswing. They have so much to offer the students including athletics. The teachers are intelligent and caring. The small class sizes mean that your child gets the attention he/she deserves. The administration will work with you to make sure your child has a great experience.

The scores for % of college entrance from students finishing Highlands School are dramatically worse than those in Navesink, Atlantic Highlands or neighboring schools. No gifted programs except for after school work. Large percentage of students below the mean for NJ with challenged students put in same class with top students. When my son tested out to skip a grade, the principal and superintendent wouldn't let him - and would clearly have held him back from achieving his full potential. I sent him to another school where he could succeed.

I currently have two children enrolled, one in 2nd grade and one in Kindergarten. My older son who is now a senior also went to HES!! Over the years I have seen a tremendous amount of growth in all aspects of my children's educational experiences. Creative energetic teachers, a wonderful atmosphere filled with community spirit, a thriving PTO, top notch administration, topped with countless opportunities such as a learning garden, science club, newley remodeled media center, etc.

Highlands Elementary is another shining jewel of this amazing shore township that hides it's light under a bushell!! My daughter is a kindergartener and her learning reaches beyond the academic to amazing social integration... Children of all years great me as my daughter's mother with respect and kindness. Saturdays are a disappointment to my daughter - her kindergarten class is only twelve, pre-k even smaller - Mr Ciullo makes a point of knowing all the children and the name of their parents, you send your child to Highlands Elementary and you know you are getting the absolute best for your child. It is a shame that past history has maligned the school but then again, if it wasnt for that we would have an over populated school!!! I could not pay for better education for my child than she receives here. KUDOS MR CHIULLO AND YOUR TEAM
