My child fell at school and broke her arm, She was forced to sit in class all day with a broken arm, We were not notified at all. After seeing my child come home and not even be able to open a door or use it in any way we contacted the doctor and called to inform the school she would be missing the next day. Finally a day later we got a call from the nurse asking how she was. This is UNACCEPTABLE!!! I will be pursuing an investigation as to why we were not notified and why she did not receive the appropriate care.

This school had good academics in my opinion but the overall flow of the school wasn't great. There was unfair discipline to people who weren't often in trouble opposed to the people in trouble. The teachers are pretty much a good bunch but there have been a fair share of bad principals and vice principals. Overall 3/5

Hesitant about sending our children here when we first moved to the area. I could not be more thankful that we made the decision to send our kids to Murphy. This school continues to impress year after year, highly recommended. We truly love this school!

When we moved to this district, my 4th grader was so far behind because of the terrible school we came from. The teacher worked with her to get her caught up, and she is now in honors classes in middle school. I have another child starting 2nd grade and one in kindergarten and couldn't be happier with their education! All staff has been respectful to myself and my children. My kids come home excited to go back.

RUN. Run as fast as you can. Most of the staff has no business working with the public, let alone with people's children.

I've lived in Fenton all my life and attended all the fox c-6 schools throughout my entire education,then when I got married and we moved to our home and not too many years later our daughter started attending Murphy because it was closest to our home so it was convenient,I didn't know what to expect but so far it's been awesome,The teachers so far are great the principle is the one of sweetest caring persons ever and my daughter hasn't had one bad experience with her learning experience,she is going to be goin attending third grade next year and In my opinion this school is a really good choice and I thank god for it being one of the choices of a few others we had,wouldn't change a thing...go Murphy lions!!!

Murphy elementry is thw worst scholl experience weve ever had. My special needs child was put in solitary daily because his teacher didnt want to deal with him and they had no where else for him to sit all day. They tried to force un needed medicines. They even went as far as to contact my childs dr with oit my consent because they feel like shes not getting the whole story. If you are thinking of moving to the northwest district dont. Youll be glad you didnt.

Out of all the different schools that our children have attended (military), this school by far is the worst. This was our first year in this school and it has been a total bust. Unfortunately, I can't move our one child because this school is the "best" in the NW R1. I find that incredibly sad. There is no communication from teachers and no help when problems come up. If I didn't just buy my house I would move to another district.

Last year was our first year at Murphy..I actually went to Murphy myself k-5. We got off to a rough start with little communication from staff, putting my child on the bus when he was supposed to be picked up..etc but this year with the new princible seems a lot better! My son enjoys school now, special area teachers, secertary and nurse are great,only complant is lunchroom aids, one in particular Is always yelling and makes kids uncomfortable while eatting...overall Murphy is a good school

Murphy Elementary has not been a good experience for me as a parent of a gifted child. I found the 1st grade teacher lazy and unwilling to provide a more challenging and engaging environment - she claimed that providing more challenging work would be a punishment. The school has also put my children on the wrong bus more than once which is unacceptable even if "it is the first day of school" and things can be hectic. The former principle decided to use money raised by the PTO for new televisions; one of which was put into the cafeteria so the kids can watch cartoons at lunch - I disagree with this 100%. The teachers my current Kindergartner and 2nd grader have now give me a lot of hope as they seem very engaged and eager to work with me rather than simply send email after email about my son's distraction in class. I also have hope that the new principle will improve the school's communication which has been very poor. I do like programs that the NWR1 disctrict has such as free breakfast for all students and a free summer school program. I just wish more teachers cared about the success of all students and not just about those that need to catch up.

Murphy Elementary is an excellent school. My two kids have done very well at Murphy. The teachers have communicated great with us about their academic progress. I like the character building activities.

I have 2 daughters at this school. Teachers are very good. Special Area teachers (Art, Music, PE, Computer) are outstanding. I talk to the teachers and administration regularly just to make sure there are no problems.

My child has attended Murphy for 5 years. Although I feel it has been a decent education, it could be better. I have been very disappointed with the staff. The current teacher does not communicate the problems my child was having until it was almost too late to remedy. Having 4 previous years of no discipline problems with my child, this was shocking to find out and I was also threatened by the principal that my child could be suspended even though I had no idea what had been going on. The school secretary has been very rude to me, the staff and other parents. As the first point of contact, this is unprofessional. Although we live in the district, we are considering sending our child to private school or paying for another public district.
