Liberty is an amazing school with great leadership and teachers. It is a college prep school and my son will be graduating with 9 AP college level classes. The counselors are top notch and help the kids with an academic plan beginning in 8th grade. The sports teams regularly take 1st or 2nd place in the state demonstrating a very close team dynamic and commitment both on the part of the athletes and the coaches. The student council is a dynamic group of kids who plan regular activities and events, from various spirit weeks to movies on the field, decorating gingerbread houses, foodie fests, senior sunrise breakfast on the field, and much more. Like anything your child will get out what they put into it, but there is a ton of support in an my area they may need.

I’m currently a student at Liberty High School and I’m genuinely having a phenomenal time here. The school has its ups and downs, but ALL high schools do. Majority of the teachers are fun and encourage students to do well in their classes. There are a couple of teachers and administrators that students aren’t very fond of (if you know, you know), but as with most schools, you’re not going to love every teacher. Our sports teams are amazing and the school spirit is definitely one of our greatest qualities. Although Liberty High School doesn’t have as much money as other schools like Arbor View and Coronado, the school works with what it has. We might not have everything rich high schools do, but the people make up for it. You’ll run into cliques and some really rude people, but ONCE AGAIN every high school isn’t going to be perfect; but you’ll meet a lot of people that’ll eventually become the greatest people you’ve ever met. I believe Liberty High School provides students with a genuine and lively adventure , and I state this with my own personal experience.

My son currently attends this school . I think the teachers are ok. My problem is with the athletics . My son came into this school at the end of the year from another state . There he only had 6 classes . Here you have 8 . So off the bat his grades were not the best . Then his Grandfather passed away . So I pulled out of school for 3 weeks , because we had to go back to our home state . So again his grade were not good . Anyway he is a football player . He went every football practice and conditioning all summer long . They charge you $400 for your child to play , plus $25.00 to register your child as a football player , plus every parent has to buy stuff for the concession stand and that cost me another $65.00 . All the parents were required to have all money paid on Saturday 8/4/18 . Then on 8/6/18 they tell you your child is ineligible to play . Are you serious ! So basically they scammed parents and students out of money . Because obviously no one have paid that if there child couldn’t play . Also if you have a problem you go to the athletic director who is the varsity head coach , that’s a conflict of interest because if your problem is with him you are out of luck . All the other coaches told me and my son all summer don’t worry about you can play we will figure it out , because of the situation he was in . But in reality all they wanted was our money . So I paid $475.00 for nothing not counting the $120.00 football cleats , the $50.00 gloves and the $30.00 mouth piece . Although they did end up telling him he could play the last 2 games if he got his GPA up. But that was after they took his helmet from in front of the entire team and gave it to another child . So of course he does not want to play after being embarrassed in front of his peers . So I would definitely research the school and there athletic department before signing your child up.

This is my son's first year and he says his teachers teach too little. They don't know the subjects they teach too well. He would like more professional teachers to teach here. The chemistry teacher is a good teacher, he teaches well :) My son has seen a lot of fights at this school :(

Our son was a new student for 10th grade and we were nervous having him transfer into a new school. His first week of school, he made more friends than he had in his old school, and he has done Exceptional in all of his classes. He states the Principal is always very visible and he couldn't be happier at Liberty High School!

I currently moved to the Henderson area last fall and am absolutely appalled by Liberty. Most of the time two of the four women's bathroom are "closed for macitence" though students all know it is because of rats. Liberty is unclean, one of my teachers even admitted to the class "the janitors don't clean the classrooms everyday". Most of my teachers do not teach well and only show the class the material instead of explaining it. The tests are also very different from what is "taught" in class and most students get a c or lower. Do not go to Liberty and do not send your children here.

I am currently a student at Liberty High school. This is my second year at Liberty. I like/dislike Liberty. I like Liberty because of the extra curriculums with Choir and Theater. Mr. Russell and the choir counsel make choir feel like another family and if you need help with music, they are very helpful. I also like some of the teachers who if you ask for help they help you and try to get you to understand it better. But there are some who make it difficult and don't try to even show you another way so you can learn whatever the subject is. The reasons I don't like Liberty so much is because I feel like they don't clean up the school good enough because of the fact that we had rats last year. Also some teachers don't seem to care about the ones who don't listen. I also don't like the fact that some students are very rude to the teachers and argue with them so much to the point the teacher is crying. I could say more but Liberty overall is an alright school.

Liberty is not clean, safe, or happy. Their education is sub-par as well. They have a rat problem this year. The janitorial staff is minimal. They don't do any cleaning int the classrooms, or hallways. They only clean the cafeteria and the quad area. There are constant fights. It has almost become a sport for the kids. The teachers often don't care, are not trained enough to take control a classroom, or just aren't very good teachers. Not that they all are bad, but the bad outweighs the good by a lot. They seem to lack proper funding, but they get a large amount of money from the district. I wonder where all of the funds are going. There is no safe place for seniors with open periods to go. They are often told to go to the 'seinor quad' which is just three tables outside. This would be sufficient in adequate weather, but in the winter, its freezing. They are then told to go home, even those that have no possible way to go home. There is no care for any of the students. They just want them all off of campus. The kids often have assignments which require certain resources, which many kids dont have access to. They are told the library has the resources they need. This would be true, but the library is almost never open, and when it is, they are greeted with distain, and annoyance.

I recently graduated from Liberty and am a college student at UNLV, I also spent all four years at Liberty. Some of the advanced placement classes I took were a joke. We mostly watched movies of books for English my first and second year and had no tests what so ever. Not just in English but in government I performed useless acts and learned nothing along the way. But, one teacher who did help me prepare for college is Mr. Depew. He may be tuff and a bit hard around the edges but his motivation was clearly to help us be prepared for college. Without him I would be struggling in my English course that I am now taking in college. And for the dress code, I find it a bit ironic that the school is called "liberty" but students cannot wear clothes in ccsd dress code and instead wear ssa. And there's a lot of favoritism when it comes to the staff and students. If you are a good friend with one of the deans or even the principle they will not care if you are out of dress code. I've seen it many times before and can I say that it was frustrating to watch. All in all liberty only has a few good qualities, you just have to pick the right teachers.

Liberty HS offers many activities, sports and clubs. Also college credit courses for those who qualify. Special Ed Dept stays active with their student and are easily contacted when needed. Communication is good.

Good Kids. Good electives. And the teachers are pretty good. Some people might say the kids and the teachers are rude, but that is their personal issues. Has a uniform, though its completely worth it....

Great school. Love their athletic department and teachers. My boys found a real family of friends at Liberty, grades improved, and they love school.

My family relocated to the Henderson area in December 2010. My son began attending Liberty in January of 2011. I have never seen such lack of professionalism, communication, and blatant rudeness from staff. Whatever you do, do not send you kid to this school. They do not address race issues when they are brought to their attention and the teachers lie to cover their backs. If you call to speak to the dean or the principal about issues, they refuse to talk to you or never return you call. This school is a complete joke. Believe me, save yourself the headache.
