I'm in my first year at HMS, as I previously taught in Virginia. I love this school. Some of the students have behavior issues, but is that not a problem at any school? Dr. Hargrove is an oustanding principal and is very supportive! I love the administration and staff here. Its much better than any charter school out there. Ugh! Now, statewide, I hate what NC is doing. They are trying to destroy public education. Taking away teacher tenure is a ridiculous idea, as is removing the bump up in pay for getting your Master's Degree. I wish this school was in Virginia, because at least the Old Dominion state supports public education. The fact that there is declining support for public schools at the state level is the only reason I'm considering moving back to Virginia to teach. HMS rocks!

When I first moved to Henderson I heard alot of negative things about this school. But from my own experience this is a really good school. My daughter and I moved from Virginia and when we entered into Henderson Middle School everyone was very helpful and nice. Moving in the middle of the school year is hard for any child to deal with and they really made the both of us feel welcome to the school and my daughter is learning alot .

Major bullying....no recourse or discipline ...students injured..after several months of complaints to staff about one particular student..my grandson was assaulted Jan 2.....police called in this time by myself..this student has has numerous assaults and suspensions..but still terrorizing other students and staff.....will see if the juvenile court system has any substance
