Henderson Collegiate Middle School is outstanding! This is a modern and efficiently -run school with good discipline and rigorous curriculum. The teachers are energetic and work hard. Their dedication and enthusiasm inspires students to go above and beyond requirements. What other school gives each teacher a phone to use in communicating with parents/caregivers, and gives out those phone numbers to parents/caregivers so they can call with any questions about their child's progress, homework, or behavior? During COVID, the school has done a wonderful job establishing procedures that keep staff and students safe. HC is a great place to learn.

Poor response to parent concerns and student safety. In kindergarten my son was placed on the wrong bus home on consecutive days even after I advised the correct bus he should ride. Food allergies are not monitored, although a food allergy form is on file with the school.

HC proves that with love, patience, and awesome curriculum all children can learn and succeed. The benefits is not just for each individual child, but for the community at large. Time and statistics will prove how much of an impact and benefit education is to children.....just you wait and see......Thank you for all you have done for Vance County children!!!

The only issue that we've ever had here was transportation related. The busses aren't very reliable, but since switching to car rider status, we haven't had any problems.

I love this school!!! My daughter is currently in the fourth grade and she loves going to Henderson Colliegate. She comes home everyday excited about what she learned and she enjoys the perks that comes with making your reading goal and etc. This school really supports the students and they prepare the children to become independent and responsible adults. I love the fact that there is open communication between the parents and teachers. The school my environment is so positive and they make all the students feel welcome. I can't say enough about how amazing this school is. This school has been an A+ school 3 years in a row. Henderson Colleigate is by far the best school in the area and I would not allow my child to attend any other school because the caliber of education she gets from here can not be achieved by any other school in this county!!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Teachers push the students to their fullest potential. We love the Pride time, the field trips every year and constant encouragement of teachers to make students excel in everything. Teachers work really hard to make learning enjoyable for students.

My son just started 4th grade and I have never had so many phones calls in my life from a school. If he forgets one page of his homework at home you get a call from your child on the teacher cellphone saying they have silent lunch. If I forget to sign his reading or homework log he gets silent lunch and a phone call. The communication is terrible they don't call and let you know the buses aren't running today or if they do it's at the last minute and sometimes you don't even get a call. They can't seem to find a bus driver so they have been cancelling all the buses. The turnover is out of this world because the teachers don't have a life due to students being able to call them up until 9:30 at night regarding homework questions. Every time I drop my son off theirs a new face. It has to get better or my son will be going back to LB Yancey. I know we brag and boost this school but there has to be some kind of structure. Bus drivers need to be hired ASAP because we as parents have to work and I'm paying a after school program for my child not being there because the buses aren't running.

I was not comfortable or satisfied with the class my kindergartener was in and was told they were not going to switch him out of the class.

Henderson Collegiate is an extraordinary school. This is our first year, my daughter is a 4th grader and she is thriving there! As incredible as this may sound, they have actually created a bully-proof environment and demand, commend and congratulate respect, education, and success. The children adapt to a love and respect for reading and at the ages of 9 and 10 they're goal is college.
