Many of the teachers in this school are lazy and uncaring. Teachers don't want to grade papers so most assignments are multiple choice. For the few essay type assignments students are allowed to cut and paste from sources on the internet, no punishment for plagiarism. After we moved my kids told me to study for tests the teacher would read the test and answers to the class....the only good part was the Spanish teachers who feel the kids do need to study, and read, and write.

This school was the worst experience my children have ever had. One of the previous reviewers said it was "a safe environment for children." I couldn't disagree more. While attending this school, they couldn't even walk home safely without being chased. They couldn't ride the bus without being pushed out of the seat. My oldest was tormented verbally or physically for the entire time he was there. He had bruises frequently to prove it. When we went to administration they told us he should "ignore" the kids bullying him. Teachers & staff did nothing to help & often blamed my child. When he stood up for himself, he was put into detention. When one child was sick, they'd get my other child & send them both home. The best thing that happened was moving & my children being able to go to decent schools that care about the children and their education. They were both behind in their new schools curriculum due to the poor education quality in the District 50 system, but now they have flourished & are doing well with their grades. My suggestion is, if you have a choice, enroll your children somewhere else. If negative stars were an option, this school would get the maximum!

This school (and all district 50 schools) is currently being investigated by the Feds because the superintendent - who is also the head of the special education program, which is a violation in and of itself - went in and changed IEPs without consent of the parents or even notifying other teachers. She said it was because they couldn't afford staffings. Sounds more like laziness to me! @Ariana: I'm glad you like this school, but sweetie, it has a LONG way to go to catch up academically! (Hint: Check your spelling before posting.)
