Amazing school! Teachers are helpful and extra help is provided to struggling students (my child received learning support). Dr. Sanders is a great principle, he works hard learning all the students names and making them feel comfortable. Counselor of the school has luncheon meetings to get to know all the students in hopes they will discuss any problems they are having in school/or with life (being a kid is hard sometimes).

We have loved our time at CTE. Mr. Sanders is, by far, one of the best principals in the country. His love and enthusiasm for his students is no less than inspiring. Our only complaint is, the school nurse is unfortunately rude and condescending to the parents. I so wish she would be spoken to about her bedside manner. It is my hope that she is much kinder to the students than she is to their parents.

CTE is an outstanding elementary school led by Dr. Larry Sanders. It's pretty special when a principal is lived by children, parents and the staff. Speaking of the staff - in our three years there so far, they have been absolutely phenomenal. The teachers go above and beyond their call of duty every day. My son has special needs and the support he gets from his teachers and the additional support teachers exceeds what my husband and I ever dreamed he'd receive. The ONLY thing I dislike about CTE - and this is a district issue, not CTE's personal decision - is the Everyday Math program. The spiraling of concepts (where you touch on different concepts throughout the year without needing to master the skill before moving on) is absolute torture for both children - especially with processing issues - and parents. The 500 different names for the same concept being taught only leads to confusion and frustration. BUT like I said, that's the district's decision, not the individual school's. I can't imagine sending my children to any other elementary school and being nearly as happy as I am with the faculty and staff at CTE. What's better is that my children feel the same way.

Overall, we do like this school. Mr. Sanders, the principal, is absolutely amazing. He knows all of "his" kids and truly cares about their well being. He is approachable, very involved, and an overall outstanding human being. I believe it is Mr. Sanders that makes CTE great. I have been a little disappointed with the math program so far. First graders do "rocket math" and do not even finish through the letter Z for addition by the end of first grade. In comparison, other local schools are already through A-Z for subtraction and starting multiplication. We seem a bit behind, which is frustrating. Parents in this school district are not very involved. The PTO constantly has to beg for volunteers, which is pathetic for such a large school. Teacher participation in PTO is also lackluster. Only two kindergarten teachers plus the principal are typically in attendance. If it weren't for Mr. Sanders and the overall family feel of CTE, we would be looking elsewhere.

CTESLIU teachers provide a personal touch which can not be compare to any other school. All teachers are trustworthy and go above and beyond of what is expected from them and treat their students as if their own. I can tell by the progress my child displays daily. What we thought once was impossible with a child with DS, my wife and I see as hope. Thank you CTES/LIU!!!!!!!

My son has had a very positive experience at CTE. His teacher and all the teachers I have interacted with are very positive and really care about the students. There is an active teacher representation at every PTO meeting. The principle is outstanding! He sets the tone for the entire school and makes everyone feel welcome.

CTE is an excellent school with overworked, underpaid staff. The teachers, secretaries, and administrative staff go beyond the call of duty to educate and help our children. Teachers and parents are the back bone of America's future generations. We should do more as a community CTE. We should donate money, even just a few dollars, at the end of each school year to the teachers. If every parent would contribute to their childs teacher it would add up to a nice collective gift.
