This school has improved greatly in the last few years. The head administration is amazing and has made so many improvements. They have added some amazing staff, programs and curriculum to help the students achieve more. It’s so hard to judge this school based on overall school ratings because there is such a small number of students in the school that the averages get affected easily. We can’t say enough about the caring teachers and support staff here.

I currently have two children in the school and two that have gone through and graduated. I have always had a positive experience with staff and administrators. My children enjoy going to school and feel so welcomed and cared for by the teachers, staff and administrators. Every child learns differently and the teachers have gone above and beyond to help meet the needs of my children on various levels throughout the years.

Hampton School has come a long way since my oldest started. I had three kids in the school and was very sad when we moved that we would not be in the same district. The teachers are very open to talking to parents and available to answer concerns or questions. The administration has made communication a lot easier and transparent. There has been some changes in staffing, but in my experience it has been all positive changes that have been beneficial to the children. The free preschool is a special added bonus!

I have children in this school and was very afraid at first from all these reviews. It turned out to be the best thing that has happened to us! Our children have blossomed so much with this school. Their grades are wonderful and the teachers are great. We were in two years of the free grant funded preschool which I couldn’t rave about more. Students k-5 are tested 3x a year to make sure they are keeping up or excelling in their studies. If they aren’t then teachers have the knowledge on an individual basis how to help those children. Both my children are excelling and testing above the national average! Amazing staff and administration! Keep up the good work!

My child started pre-K this year at Hampton school (in the FREE grant funded program). It has been an amazing year and my child is thriving! The community of parents, teachers, staff has been so welcoming.

We have nothing but positive things to say about this school! We almost didn’t buy our house here because we were nervous about the low score for Hampton Public School. We are so glad we took a leap of faith. We are beyond amazed at what our children have learned during their time in Hampton Public School. The staff are all so friendly and willing to help with anything! They are energetic and give their all to the kids. The low scores on Greatschool are extremely dated and really should be redone. I read the negative review below and couldn’t disagree more with everything written.

Poor. Small class sizes, high tirn over od teachers, not a modern school. At least they figured some of this out and moved upper grades our to Woodglen School. This school should of been closed years ago as it contunes to fall apart.

I attended this school from Kindergarten - 8th Grade and I felt extremely prepared for high school. After high school I attended Coastal Carolina and landed a job with Ernst & Young in Times Square. My education started with Hampton!

The school is simply too small of offer competitive advantages to any of the kids, not academically, athletically, musically, etc. The administrator is a former teacher who is awful, he lies repeatedly & has squandered the support of his own staff & created an adversarial relationship with the parents as well as the town. Two current Board of Ed members have removed their kids from the school & are sending them to private school. The president of the Board has concealed issues from the rest of the Board, allowing the administrator free reign & keeping the district from any advancement.

We moved to Hampton the year our student started 7th Grade excited for the small town and the small town school. We were not disappointed. Every teacher, administrator and even the janitorial staff truly cares about our children and our community. The school has multiple programs to help the students learn and grow as well as programs to assist in their development within the community. The two years we were able to be exposed to the interim CSA were amazing and I am sure Mr. Jones will follow in his footsteps to keep this school moving in the right direction!

We moved here thinking this was a good small charming school but now regret it. Most of the teachers here are just getting started or been there too long. Lots of turn over from the top down and that is not good. They really should shut the school down and consolidate it with Clinton or a nearby district. It would be best for all. Granted it like your old charm school, quiet, small student teacher ratio and compared to inner city school its so much better but comparing with area elementary school is has to rate toward the bottom. Again not the worst but if you are looking for a top notch school this is not the place. Just look into how many adminstrators (principal, super.etc) have come and gone in the past years. It tells you something is wrong.
