This school has been great thus far. The teachers are very engaging and the classrooms are structured to optimize learning. Most schools in Clayton County get a bad rap. Primarily due to lack of parental involvement and there hasn't been much change in leadership since the school loss accreditation in 2008. However, this school is a gem. I highly recommend.

We are concerned grandparents and are very disappointed and sadden with the school system of ALL Clayton County, especially this school. We have been residents of the State of Georgia for quite some time and have watched as this school systems creditably kept falling way below other Country’s, You should all be ashamed, doesn’t any one care for the future of these children?

I have a very smart child and I did not like that when my son completed all his work, he was just sitting in class doing nothing. During the COVID-19 pandemic it only got worse. He took so many breaks, was sitting on camera for a long periods of time with no assignments, and even got out of class early because they had nothing for him to do. I even ask them to give him more assignments but no consistency there. Basically, if you have smart kids they will not nurture their minds. The only thing they care about is perfect attendance. This is a joke of a school. So, I just moved.

My daughter always complain about fights at school and on the bus! her grades dropped so I called her 4Th-grade teacher she told me she has 60 children she cant keep up with them all!!! REALLY!! My daughter has been A/B honor roll since she started school.

This school did not meet my expectation. The two assistant principals are just getting a paycheck....not even working. kids are unruly and the school has lots of bullies.

I hated hawthorne elementary im in 8th grade now but I will never forget me experience there. I was bullied and tormented by my peers there . when I get older I will never send my children there ( your better off home schooling)

As a father of two children of Hawthorne, I must say that this school has exceeded my expectations for their success. The administration is very professional and personable. I do wish that the school had an 'performing arts' component, however, they do provide extracurricular outlets for the kids.
