As a 8th grader that goes to this school, I am glad to have survived this school, The school has gotten worse over time it's like Afghanistan 24/7 fights happen almost every 000.1 millisecond and I constantly get picked on, and I've gotten into 1 fight at this school, students call teachers by their first name Repeatedly, when I have children I will NOT enroll them into this horrid school.

I been at this school for a long time and this might had been the best system I have seen. The teachers are nice and my sons are perfectly good and have high grades. One of my sons have all As and the other have A and Bs . To anybody who want to go here it is a great school to go.

This school is gang infested and administration has ineffective strategies for dealing with violent children.

My son is in the 8th grade and had the worst experiences at this school. Kids would pick on him non stop, they broke his glasses and the school did nothing about it, they told him that his shoes were fake and took pictures and posted them to social media while the entire cafeteria laughed at him. The young ladies in the school come to school with light jackets and no bras and also kiss boys in the middle of the hallway. The teachers can barely teach their classes because the class is so loud, disrespectful, and unruley. The children run the school and theres no doubt about it. My son has not had a Social Studies teacher all year long, there has been sub after sub but yet his grade dropped to a 40 while nothing was being taught in the class because of the yelling and screaming from the teacher as well as the students. We have withdrawn our child from this school and will NEVER return. I DO NOT recommend this school under any circumstances for your Middle School aged child. I don’t know enough about the K-5 side of the school but i suggest moving, like we did, before they get to 6th grade

This school is very unorganized. My son teacher has not sent any homework assignments in two weeks. No communication as far as how my son is doing in class. Also I had a parent teacher conference scheduled and was asked to reschedule it when I got there.. This is not a good school at all.. Since the 1st day of school I have had problems.. I would not recommend anyone to send there child here.

My son started in 2011 and the great score was 5 now its a 2. I took my son out in December 2015 when all the seasoned Teachers was relocating and my son's report card grade was a (I) for incomplete due to no certified Teacher to grade him. My son has always been intelligent but soon he began to decline due to lack of proper training. K12 program is the best thing that could have happened for him. I work full time but thanks to family they assist me with helping him succeed. Now he is in a safe environment where good teachers are hands down and willing to work with my child minus the overcrowded schools and nonsense that goes on in the schools today.

My son attended Eddie White and my daughter will begin going there next week for the middle school grades. Overall, as a parent, I was pleased with the school. I would like to see more parents offer SOLUTIONS for whatever issues they have as opposed to just stating problems. Let's face it, no school system is perfect. I work closely with one of the most highly regarded school systems in the state and trust me, they face the same challenges. The major difference is that parents there tend to be more vocal willing to help make the necessary changes. As a community, if we see problems, we have to come together with other parents, teachers, administrators, and community stakeholders to make the changes that we want to see.

I am reposting bits and pieces of this because I agree with the fellow parents and we are saying the same thing about our experience with this school. "I am not looking for teachers to do my job as a parent, just communicate with me and communicate the correct information. " If this was done, maybe the school system would not have a need to hire graduation coaches. "I completely understand the aim to help the children become more accountable but my goodness, don't through the kids in the water and watch them drown, reach down and help them." As a parent, I feel like every time you trust the schools in Clayton County you come up with water in your lungs, because they are not only letting the kids drawn they are trying to hold the parents under water as well as parents try to advocate for their child(ren). "Eventually they'll swim"; however parents will still stand by as life guards so they do not drown from taking on too much too soon as the children try to be more responsible. Now, the school will tell you that you are over parenting, but I bet you when kids act out they are asking, "Where is the child's home training? or "Why are the parents not doing their job?" The school should be aware that they can not have it both ways either pparents are going to be hands on or have a hands off parenting style. It is "very heart breaking to see such a beautiful school ill equipped with the right educational talent it needs." This school definitely will not be receiving race to the top funds anytime soon. if I had a choice I would follow the advice of the following parent, "...DONOT LET THE NAME ACADEMY FOOL YOU! COUNSELORS! ARE NOT WHAT THEY USED TO BE! TEACHERS NOT COMMUNICATING! ...CHILD GRADES SLOWLY GOING DOWN "

I am not looking for teachers to do my job as a parent, just communicate with me and communicate the correct information. By all means apply rules to every student in the same situation. As a 6th grade parent, I completely understand the aim to help the children become more accountable but my goodness, don't through the kids in the water and watch them drown, reach down and help them. The process of middle school is definitely something the parent and student has to get used to. Eventually they'll swim. Very heart breaking to see such a beautiful school ill equipped with the right educational talent it needs.

REALLY! Nothing has changed at Eddie white, until we can be honest as a society, instead of getting praise on the web for what is not earned. These schools in clayton county Ga are terrible, attentiveness of teachers is a joke, if you want to know the truth read what the students write you will know when it came from them and not what the parents who are either teachers or friends of teachers have to write. People have to move to different counties for a good education and to keep their children safe. Come on parents it's time to be honest.

EWA is a great school. My daughter is in 2nd grade and we just moved to GA from Panama City FL. I was very skeptical about this school bc it is huge! K-8th! But I really love it. My daughter is comfortable and she really does love it as well. Classroom sizes are big and that is the only negative thing I have to say. I work with my child at home so she is exceeding. I am use to playground time everyday after lunch. In GA there is no such thing. The principals and counselors are really helpful. and the school colors are amazing!!! LOL I am a PROUD WOLF PACK PARENT! I trust that my daughter is safe in the WOLF PACK DEN! Hope this helps

The children are great. As teachers, we do what we can to help. I strongly recommend this school to any child or parent.

My daughter came to EWA last year as a 6th grader. The teachers are very attentive & provide an environment that is conducive to learning. They set the academic expectations high and then equip the students to reach those goals. Thus far, I am very pleased with this school. I wanted better for my daughter & chose to send her to EWA rather then the low performing schools in my school district. I drive 30 mins one way every morning & it has been well worth the gas I burn to get her there!!! Dr.McCrary privudes great leadership & I love the weekly calling posts to keep all parents in the loop!

I am a student at EWA ( Eddie White Academy) Most of the teachers act like they don't care .. But ti guarantee the majority does. I'm going to 8th grade , and I have been here since the 6th grade .. The environment is not so kind , most people are basically in cliques whether they know it or not .. But to be TOTALLY honest I have been a straight A student until I arrived in 6th grade now it's mostly B's than A's :/

Eddie White is a good school my son had a problem at the school and the staff handle it every well. Every time the teacher needed me they call me. Parents need to spend time with their kids and stop talking bad about the teacher because they are trying

All three are my kids attended Eddie White since it open 3 years ago. The teachers are AWESOME, they really push the students to excel. The teachers always let me know my kids progress in their classes and I made sure I did my part as a parent to stay involved with my children education. All three are honor roll students.
