Visits to the school show a warm, friendly, caring environment. Kids are happy and everyone says "Hi." The teachers seem dedicated to their students. The corridors of the well-equipped, well-maintained building are lined with student artwork. The art teacher won an award as the best in the state. School programs demonstrate engagement among the kids and the teachers. I'm happy to have a grandchild at the school.

We've been very happy with our child's experience at HES. It starts with the leadership exerted by the principal, who is a dynamic and inspiring leader. The teachers have demonstrated their commitment to our child; going beyond the "normal" by creating custom enrichment which develop critical thinking skills, in subjects that are of interest. We're also impressed at the development of the whole child that occurs at this school - the kids are friendly and really help each other, whether it's a 5th grader partnering with a 1st grader as a "book buddy" or during the multi-age activities that the staff has creatively put together.

I have recently moved away from Hampton and am so thankful that my child is not a student in this school. The school he currently attends is so far superior in so many ways! He is challenged, the curriculum is clearly articulated, the expectations are laid out in advance, the communication from the school is outstanding. Not so at HES - in fact far from it.

My 3 children attended this school. They looked forward to going to school each day since the small, friendly environment gave them confidence to grow and learn. They were given an excellent foundation to do very well in middle school, high school, and even college.

Hampton is a wonderful little school that provides a great overall experience for the students. The staff is warm and caring and able to provide a personal touch to the education of the students. The administration and staff are implementing new assessments and curriculum to improve the educational experience of the student and is looking forward to positive results in the future.

This school is rated far higher than it deserves. Why is it rated only on sixth grade test scores? This is a PreK-6 school, there are other grades, and in the lower grades, the scores are dismal. There has been a steep decline in the school census, some of which is statewide, but also due to bullying concerns and test scores far lower than they should be for the demographic of the town and the number of students in each class (between 9 and 17 in recent years). I would give this school zero stars if I could.....
