This school is so amazing. All the teachers are fabulous and really care about the students. However the principal is very strict and has cut fun out of learning. Overall the school is great and I would definitely recommend sending your student here.

Very positive. While relocation is always an option in our current job, leaving this school has played a major role in keeping us here.

My son is in K and absolutely loves his school. The teachers I've met and worked with as a parent volunteer are all wonderful. I do hear there are some quite strict teachers in other grades, but you'll find that in any school. Overall the students are learning, happy, and safe. My only complaint is the curriculum forced on the teachers, which is a county wide issue.

Would not recommend this school to my worst enemy my child went to this school arms wide open praising being a blue ribbon school that was three years ago since my child has been labeled everything under the sun k teacher s are strict. Principal does not care asst principal should be principal only one that cares for the students reported to board and withdrw my child will pay for private school than here

The pits!!!! The principal is absolutely careless. Don't expect these "adults" to protect your child let alone teach them! They have process in place to NOT follow. Makes PERFECT SENSE. Majority of teachers are demeaning to children because they are allowed to get away with it.

I really wish that we were told that this school went from an exemplary rating to an academically acceptable rating... it's a shame!

I have nothing but the best to say about this school. I am a grandparent who has had guardianship for 1 year. When my grandchild transferred from out of state she was in 5th grade at age 12.She had a reading level of 2nd-3rd grade. 2 weeks after starting, ALL of the teachers called us in for a conference. My GC was failing everything, partly due to past issues and LD. By the end of the year, she had increased her lexile scores by 400 pts. When she left Spring Garden for middle school, her skills had improved enough so that after 1 grading period in 6th grade, she was elevated to 7th grade. Teachers were very caring and involved.

Several changes have transpired since my first child started to attend SGE. The administrative staff and the PTA board. Both have not been for the betterment of the school, unfortunately! When my eldest first started in SGE in 2004, i could not have asked for a better school. Now, the administrative staff (principal, assistant principal, etc...) show a great lack of caring for the children. Its all about the test scores and "perception"of the school. Had my eldest not have had so many friends in the school i would have had him/her removed. Now my youngest is going through and i can only hope that he/she picks up more of an education than the later. The 4th/5th grade science teacher can not properly teach the children and they are trying to fix it, but its too late for a lot of children who have fallen by the wayside. Its a shame....
