I have a child currently in 6th grade at this school. I can not express how much I love this school! The principals are amazing, the teachers are amazing, and the students are even better. In my experience the PK-8 model is a much better experience than it being an elementary and middle school. The middle school kids are given responsibilities on the elementary side and are set up as role models for the younger kids. They are held to a higher standard because they have to lead the younger grades. The facilities are as good as they can be in a school of this age. Very clean and well kept, they have pride in their school. I have had options to move my kid and couldn’t dream of it. It says a lot when parents out of district will pass schools just to bring their kids to Hamlin! The community support is unreal!!!

Seeing how I've attended this school; I feel qualified to report that its absolutely backwards. Children are outwardly racist and homophobic without any regard or stopping of them. Certain teachers are good at their jobs, while others are very good at expressing how little they care about you as a person. And don't get me started on the way Special Education students are treated! The assistant principal? Well, all you have to do is ask any student and they'll give you mountains of horror stories about her. Ranging from overreactions because of simply not liking students, to lesser punishments for those she likes more. While teachers can be tolerated to an EXTENT, the students are the thing that ruins it for me. They're snobby, unapproachable, and even ableist!

Honestly this is the best school I've been to in lincon county, the teachers and cooks and custodions are truly the best. The only problem you'd really have is the principal, but the assistant principal is awesome. The rating it has had so far is not what it deserves,the kids are great there and the place is nice and clean.
