This is a great school with a lot of opportunities for students to get involved. The staff is diverse with teachers from all over the globe as well as teachers who went to GHS. The leadership in the school tries to make a difference.

The building is disgusting, the staff is horrible, the kids are just as bad.

GHS, like any school dealing with students from the varying backgrounds as does GHS, has its struggles; however, I have had the privilege to see greatest in action. The administration team are involved with being "agents of change" and the encourage the faculty and staff, and the students to become the same. My time at GHS has been life-changing and I am a veteran educator of 28 years. GHS is a great place to be if you too desire to be an "agent of change " for young people.

My son went here and he was the only whit kid in his classes the teachers are rude if parents want anything to do with there kids school. My son was offed drugs and he told the principle and he told him to ignore it and nothing will happen. There are multiple fights a day and. A LOT OF GANG affiliation. Nor my son or daughter fells comfortable walking doen the halls and RACISM is a big deal. My daughter has been an. A student all trough out school and now she comes home and does work for hours and still fails her classes. I am planning on moving to a better school zone ASAP. DEFINITELY disappointed by the schools principle

This was a fantastic school last year --but now is a disorganized mess where one of the Assistant Principal yells at teachers and students. There is a new principal who does not seem to be organized. He either is not aware of what is happening or doesn't care. No one sees him around like they did the last principal and when they do, he has a mean face on. Many teachers are quitting. Parents are not communicated with. Inquiries are not responded to. My son was so happy last year. This year I hear horrible stories of what goes on in the school and he is saying he doesn't want to go next year because many of the teachers he loved are leaving. He went from a struggling student to one doing well and now the chaos of what is going on that school is bringing his grades down. In one year, this school has went from wonderful to horrible. I am trying to determine if we should move so he can go to another school.

I'm a senior at Griffin High and I take great pride in my school as well as my fellow students. We received a new principal a few years ago and he really has changed how our school is interpreted by the public. He got us more teachers so that we have 2 per class. He does his best to get to know every student by name and find out how he can help those who aren't doing too well in their classes. We really scored big with this new principal.

Honestly, I think Griffin High is a great school. We have amazing athletics, a superb chorus, and wonderful academics. My daughter is a freshman in the gifted classes and she is really enjoying her time at Griffin High. One of my sons recieved a full ride to college and got to study abroad at Oxford University in England from recieving a Griffin High education. Griffin High really is an amazing school.

It is nice to be in the school where young boys and girls are dressed as they should be. There are still a few students that are trying to push the limits to see just a far they can go. The teachers really try to help in any way they can.
