My child has gone to this school for 3 years. Bulling is a very big problem at this school. The teachers nor principal does anything about it. Their are some good teachers at this school but many are not very good. One teacher kept yelling at my child for asking a question. My child kept failing in math and science. I hired a tutor firm to help him. The tutor tested him to get a baseline, she used the state standardize test to evaluate and he tested above grade level. Had meeting with teacher. Teacher reviled state testing. Student had tested above grade level. How does a student test above grade level and still make failing grades? In my option these scores and very bad bulling reflect a school in need of much help and leadership. Several parents have elected to change schools or home school.

Open House at West Pines was a rewarding experience - everyone was friendly and nice. Mr. Harrison (principal) was sitting at the front door greeting everyone and made them feel welcome. He was talking to the students, calling them by their name. When you are in a small school like this you can have more time with students. There are only 15 in the 1St grade class and that makes a big difference, especially if a child needs extra help. The school is very clean and very quiet. Thank you

My son has been at WP for 2 years now.. both years I cant say I was happy with the teaching staff.. Most of all being his kindergarten teacher. Supposedly, my son was always getting into trouble, but never once did I receive a letter from his teacher letting me know what was going on. I had to hear from the bus driver. In my opinion if it has to do with my son I am the one that should be notified about it.

I agree with the other parent who says that West Pines is a wonderful school. I grew up with a father in the military and moved every three years, so being at a school like this is a wonderful experience. No the principal may not know everyones name, child or parent, but do you really want the principal to know you 'well'? I have two children that attend WP and they have always been treated fairly by Mr. Harrison and the teachers, and would not accept any less from them. My experiences at the school have been great . There are problems with any school, show me one where there are none and I bet if you dig a little you would find some faults, noone is perfect and no school is perfect but WP is an exceptional school and I am proud that my children attend such a school.
