My child Is gifted and also has some learning differences. This school has let my child fall between the cracks. The teachers my child has had have been hit or miss. Their first year here the teacher was great. First grade teacher was not good. She was very strict and had my 1st grade ADHD child sit out from recess to finish their work... She's an older teacher in the school and seems to be burned out. Then 2nd grade; Miss Fortune was the absolute best! You could tell she loved being a teacher, put her heart into it and truly cared about her students. Unfortunately she's since left to teach elsewhere. Fifth grade started out great, then as the second half of the year rolled around my students grades dropped drastically to failing. It now seems as though they are annoyed with my child so much so that my child told me "my teachers think I'm lazy and stupid." (clearly not the case, as they test in the top 95% of their peers.) They are just not engaged my kid... While in meetings the VP either lied to me or is unaware of TEA laws. Teachers and administration all use different forms of communication and it's extremely difficult to keep up with everything because of it. If you have a neuro-diverse child stay away!

My child attended Grapeving Elementary for several years. The school is disappointing. The elementary schools within GCISD all have some sort of curriculum enhancements (STEM, IB, etc) - however, this school provides nothing like that.Further thoughts:- There are some teachers who are very motivated, and I feel sorry for them having to work in this environment. Most teachers do not seem to care. One teacher would still misspell my child's name after more than two years.- Communication with parents is bad. Teachers and principal do not respond.- The front desk staff is very often rude, parents dread having to deal with their attitude.Overall, I would not recommend this school.

Grapevine Elementary School is a dream come true for both parents and children. They are highly focused and successful in educating the whole child. They provide a perfect balance of rigorous academics with compassionate consideration for the social and emotional needs of each student. My son was a kindergartner last year in Mrs. Killebrew's class. I can say as an educator myself, that she is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever known...what a blessing I had to have her as my son's first teacher! In his own words: "I love Mrs. Killebrew... because she is so kind. She really does care about everybody and always helps us." Any family that is lucky enough to get Mrs. Killebrew has truly hit the jackpot! The principal, Mrs. Hilcher is a brilliant leader and it is obvious that her passion and enthusiasm are genuine and set the tone for the positive moral at the campus. You are likely to see her friendly smiling face nearly every time you are on campus. Also, Mrs. Horn, the counselor is a gem. She is intelligent, compassionate and will do whatever it takes to help a student in need.Lastly, the Dad's Club and PTA are very involved in the school which reflects the level of family and community involvement at this campus. Overall all, this is a happy and fun school where your child will experience tremendous academic growth while being cared for and supported in the best way possible. Go stars!

We love GES! The entire staff is amazing to work with and seem to truly care about the students. Our child has ADHD and each teacher he has had as well as the Vice Principal have all actively worked to find the right path of learning for him. They all communicate extremely well. There is also a very strong parent group who is actively involved in providing enrichment for the children.

We recently moved to Grapevine and was worried our child would find it hard to adjust to a new school and this school has been wonderful! Teachers are great and make sure we as parents are always kept up to date with anything that has been going on in the classroom. My child loves going to school and has been learning a lot.
