In a world that has moved toward enabling and the dumbing-down high school students, West Catholic defies the trend and challenges students to the academic rigors they are certain to meet in life beyond high school. Our son is currently finishing up his sophomore year in college, yet, because of his earned and transferred high school AP credits, he is a senior. This gives him 1st pick at college course selection each semester, a perk should you want your child to complete college in 4 years. It also makes minoring in more than one subject an easy reach. West Catholic is challenging! It shows you how to work hard and raise the bar on living a life devoted to principle, discipline and conviction. A great investment!

Attended West Catholic from 1965-1969 and had the honor as a Senior to be the mascot Freddie Falcon during the football season. Caring/compassionate/knowledgeable instructors, a community of students that have a common bond and form a strong camaraderie with each other. "One the west side of the valley, there's a team we love so well. They're the boys from on the hilltop, all together hear us yell". GO GREEN - GO WHITE - GO FALCONS FIGHT - FIGHT - FIGHT

I wasn't raised Catholic. I attended public school. I am not from Grand Rapids and we don't live on the westside. We tried to get to know the local public high school and they reacted in disbelief that we might have questions and might want to meet a teacher or two. Then we called West Catholic. What an incredible place. It's ugly. It's on the westside (who's from the westside?). You have to PAY money to send your kids there (wait, isn't school "free?"). Your kids are held to high standards of conduct and when they make a mistake, they're held accountable-because this place cares. REALLY cares. Not like, "let's wear pink to the football game to show we care," but truly cares. Our sons are thriving here. God willing and with West's great faith-based education, they are becoming young gentlemen scholar athletes. It's a modest, humble place that excels at preparing kids for responsible, faith-filled adult lives. Everyone associated with it cares so much about each kid and family. The teachers and staff are Saints. It's not perfect, but the "perfect" places are lying about themselves anyway! If you love your kids, send them to West. They will love you for it forever.

West Catholic is my alma mater, the school of my three children, and the place of my employment for over 25 years. I would not have sent my children to any other school; all three are college graduates and are very successful and happy. WC helped them realize their potential both academically and religiously. Go West!

I read these reviews and am almost in tears. I am so proud of all of the students that I have come into my classroom that are incredibly successful. There have been so many that I see in places that are so unexpected. Weddings, births, family get to gethers. There are always more that I see that will be members of the WC community. Great place...I am a former student as well!

I attended West Catholic for all four years of high school and could not have been more prepared for the next step. I was also able to graduate college in four years with a double major and I know it would not have been possible if not for the education I received from West. I think the best part was that whenever I would run into a former teacher of mine they were always genuinely interested in how I was doing. Great school, great education, down right great people.

West Catholic has offered all my children an academically superior, faith-based education in a very inclusive, caring environment.

West Catholic is an exceptional school. I attended West all four year of high school and am now in my second year of college at a Big Ten University. I believe that I was well prepared for college because of my time at West Catholic. The curriculum was challenging yet awarding, especially if you take the offered Honors and AP courses. The staff and athletics were great and the school was, all around, a community. Every high school has its pitfalls but the administration goes great lengths to correct these with grace, wisdom and guidance from the Lord. This private school experience not only encouraged me to "step it up" in my faith life but in my service as well. Any student, parent or family that takes the initiative to get involved here will look back on their years at West Catholic as an experience of a lifetime. Go Green!
