All 3 of my children attended school here and were well prepared for secondary school. The staff is incredible and they meet individual student needs each and every day. Safety is the top priority for this school.

We moved to this school from out of state this year. Unfortunately, this is the lowest ranked elementary school in Grain Valley, and after a year at this school, I can see why. I literally have no idea what my kids do all day here. They never bring home any graded assignments so I can see how they're doing and what they are working on. I brought this up at parent teacher conference and neither of their teachers had any good reason why they never bring home assignments (probably because they just don't do a whole lot at school). They have changed their grading system to a ridiculous "AP, MT, EX" grading scale which basically translates into the teachers not having to grade anything at all- they just put "MT" at the top of any assignment that does come home and on every report card. I kid you not when I say my daughter has studied for a test and got 1 wrong and not studied and got 8 wrong and recieved the same exact grade both times- "MT". The only time I hear communication from my sons teacher is when I need to send a "special treat" in for him to have a party, which is literally every other week. I'm not sure what they are celebrating. My kids are getting dumber by the minute. This school is literately terrible.

We love Stony Point! We have had two of our children attend so far and have nothing but positives to share. The whole team has a huge heart and it's evident in all that they do. We relocated from out of state and our first love was that school and everyone that is apart of it. Shelly and Mr. Schmitt are terrific. I will say Mr. Schmitt is fast moving and a bit more of an introvert but that's okay he does an amazing job and once you get to know him you realize that although not chatting he's hard working, caring and runs a great team! 5 stars!!

The teachers are awesome! However there is still Mr. Schmitt and Shelly in question. They don't make anyone feel comfortable and not helpful with anything. The school would be a 5 if some things - people would change.

Stony Point is fabulous! The office staff is wonderful. It is evident that the staff loves their jobs and the students are highly successful. Couldn't be happier!
