If possible, I would avoid this school district. Lack of integrity and character in teaching staff and a lackluster passion for actually teaching students should be reason enough but add to it if you try to address issues with the staff they will retaliate and bully your child as if they are a child themselves.

My children came through this school and had positive experiences during this critical time in their lives. The teachers care about their students and offer real responsibilities for students to develop as leaders. My kids were challenged and discovered new interests during their middle school years. Discipline issues are dealt with quickly and the principals are fair.

Grain Valley Middle School has some dedicated teachers but also a few that don't seem to be as dedicated to teaching. My child struggles in school and yet some of the teachers choose not to have after school tutoring which I believe would improve my child's academic learning. :(

We have been very pleased with South Middle School. We love the teachers. The school has a great leadership program. Their band instructors are amazing.

We have had a very poor experience with the middle school. My child has been verbally and physically bullied by other students, the Principal has done little to stop it and has not come up with an effective plan to bring it to a halt. After having this happen to 2 of my children,I can no longer keep them in this district. School should be a safe place for all kids where they grow and learn but sadly my kids are not thriving here. All I can say is do your homework before you place your children here. Elementary schools are great but it goes downhill from there.

this middle school has been a nightmare,we are a military family and my wife works also ,we have 2 children that have been suffering in this school because we dont have the option to move they run the school like nazi's and do so without reprocussion,we have tried to contact the superintendants office without sucess.anybody that thinks this is a good school doesnt know better or they are from here....caution newcomers not welcome!!!!
