Otter River has been a wonderful place for my daughter. I was worried moving into the area and away from a school we loved dearly. But, it really is a wonderful little place. It is small so getting to know the teachers and staff is easy, and they all learn who your child is. I love the small school setting and it has been great for us.

Otter River is a gem. It is evident from previous negative post that a group of parents got together and decided to "blast" the school. Otter River is an excellent school with knowledgeable teachers, an excellent administration and a supportive staff. Otter River is a family community. The adults in the building are loving and supportive of students and they really show that they care. All of my children have attended this school and I would recommend it to anyone. Please ignore the negative comments of others - Otter River has always been a top notch school and has been fully accredited each year.

School is very unfair in how it handles students. Certain teachers will "insinuate" it's not a good work place but won't come out and say so out of fear for losing their job. RUN from this school....Pay for private school or request that your child be placed at another Bedford county public school! RUN.

Students who don't excel are left behind and essentially picked on as if they have given the school bad name. We were excited for the small school experience but have been horrified to say the least. Sad and disappointing and the kids that need the most help get labeled as not worth it.

Compared other schools in Bedford County this is one of the worst. Not as advance in technology or education.....students are "passed over" when they need help learning and "passed to the next grade" in order for the school to "look good". Facilities are "outdated" and traffic before and after school (car riders) is horrific.

Otter River Elementary School is the best! I have two boys attending, one in preschool and the other in second grade. I went there also when I was a little girl. This school has the most caring teachers and staff that I have ever seen. Everything done in or out of the classroom is totally for the children. With so many cuts in our children's education, this school has not made a single cut for their futures. And the price of our future is our children's hands. I am a proud parent of this wonderful elementary school. Thank you.
