Where do I even start. I went to this school from 2-8th grade as a diganosed autistic person and I had to start masking in order to feel like I wasn't different from the other kids. This is because I was the only autistic kid there. Teachers often got me in trouble for typical autistic behaviors because they weren't trained. My 5th grade teacher was a religious nut who would give lunch detentions for just saying god's name in vain. The religion teacher was a homophobic bigot. The principal was a tirant who cared about more how we were dressed and the school's reputation that the students. he would also get annoyed at kids for doing things that kids normally do. This is a school that cares more about shoving religious principles down our throats than teaching us how to be good people. I am no longer a christian due to this place, so I hope they're happy.

Evangelical is a wonderful private school option in the Godfrey area. They maintain a family like environment with the students, parents and staff. They truly exceed in making your children feel at home and welcome there. We currently have experienced preschool and have been very pleased. Curriculum seems up to date on what other students are doing, as well as more of a Christian centered focus, which my family appreciates. My son came from me being home for several months with him and then being watched by only family up until this point. Evangelical made our transition smooth and comfortable. I was amazed at how well he took to the teachers and the classroom. Evangelical also has managed to remain in school safely for most of the school year. I feel they have gone above and beyond to make sure everyone is on the same page and follows guidelines to help ensure the safety of students, staff and families. I appreciate this and think they have done wonderfully! My son will continue to go to school here. We had several friends and family recommend the school. The principal is very friendly and someone you can contact when needed. The school provides two teachers per small class in preschool. They limited their numbers as well to satisfy covid needs. They also make sure the safety of their students is top priority. There are various measures in place to make sure that only a parent or authorized person is picking up. They have also been able to set up separate times for the drop offs and dismissals, making it easier on the parents with the flow of traffic. We also really appreciate Evangelical's before and after school programs that focus on helping students with homework needs or just meeting social/emotional needs. My son truly loves the before care teachers too! The price is affordable and comparable to others in the area with more options and meeting of needs for families. I would highly recommend the school and the environment for any parent and family.

There were several good years I had at this school, but I don't miss being there. Unfortunately the only memories I can strongly recall are the ones of pain and hardship. Would I recommend you send your kid there? Maybe.

Evangelical is a great academic school that prepares students well for their next step into high school. They have many helpful programs including after and before school program, math help, and extracurricular activites. The only thing I can comment on is that there were some minor bullying issues a few years back- not sure if it is still an issue now. The teachers are lovely! They truly form bonds with the students and help them as best they can.

We love this school. I have an 8th grader that just graduated. She began school there in the 7th grade. She loved it and she loved her teachers. The teachers there truly care. Mrs. Kay Helfrich the 8th grade teacher is the sweetest, kindest caring teacher, who really loves her students as if they were all her children. Mrs. Guymon is amazing. She was able to help my daugther to learn to love math. The graduation ceremony was so personalized and touching for all the parents and the students. My only wish is that I had been able to enroll her sooner so that she would have more time with this wonderful school. Our other daughter has attended since preschool and again we have had a great experience with the pre-K teachers and the Kindergarten teachers. We look forward to the next years for her with Evangelical. It truly does prepare these kids for the next step into High School and provides a strong foundation. I am so happy we have the means and the opportunity to give our children the value and experience of attending this school.

My child has attended this school from preschool to present (7th grade). All the teachers and staff have been excellent! They have been wonderful throught the years. I do have to agree with the comments on cliquishness, but not with the children with the Parents. If you do not "fit" into the small group of parents that associate with each other you will be excluded! I've left very upset a couple of times volunteering for certain activities. Feel like i'm back in High School trying to fit in with those parents. I can relate more with the kids they are more adult than their parents.

I am a parent and my two children have attended Evangelical since pre-school. My children love going to school at Evangelical. Both children will be attending Evangelical through the eight grade. They are receiving a high quality education at a reasonable price. Each year the school administers the Terranova test and my children have scored above average each time. In fact on the last test, my third grader had a total score of 95 and my fifth grader had a total score of 83. The teachers, principal, and staff do an outstanding job. Parents choose to routinely help at the school as needed. My children play basketball & baseball for the school, and they have made many friends in the process. I have seen my children excel at Evangelical both academically and socially. My kids "love their school" as they say. Since the school's enrollment continued to climb, the school expanded it's facilities a few years ago, and built an addition for classrooms and a new gymnasium and multi-purpose room as well. The school has excellent facilities and a wonderful gymnasium for a private school. I recommend Evangelical School & pre-school to my friends and family.

I have nothing but great things to say about the experience our children have had at Evengelical school. Educationally & socially our children have excelled. They learn in a loving christian environment. The teachers go above and beyond to give them a quality education. Most of the teachers offer tutoring in their free time if needed. There is a lot of parent involvement and I do not agree with some of the comments made in a few of the other posts. I could not say enough good things about the school & church.

I am a parent that has 2 children that attend Evangelical. My husband and I love this school and so do our children. They have both attended since preschool and will continue through eith grade. The staff is wonderful and caring. Children that attend this school are generally above avarege when they mix into the public school system. My oldest child has always scored above average on the Terra Nova testing and my youngest is too young to take it but I have total confidence she will be prepared when she is at the grade to start taking it. As a family, we appreciate all the teachers and school staff. We are extremely happy with our choice in schools.

I have one child in her first year at Evangelical and my wife and I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. All the staff from the Principal to the employees in the office have always treated us and our child with professionalism and a caring attitude. We especially like the emphasis that is placed on the extra curricular activities and the religious foundation that the school teaches. We have made some very good friends with other parents in the school and have always felt included and welcomed. Not sure why some of the other comments on here claim that the school is "clickish". Face it, when you have a school with 500 kids and probably twice as many parents, you can't expect everyone to be best friends. That's just life. We have two more kids that will be starting at the school next year. Very satisfied.

I have to agree with other comments. Very clickish and they discriminate against people without a claim to fame. I like the curriculum. Either they dont see the clicks or they just care about the money. We left this school due to unfairness towards our child. In the end our child will lead with kindness and without discrimination. We are saving the $350 per month and investing it into our child's college education fund.

I'd have to agree COMPLETELY with the review below mine... the Principal truly cares, the teachers are wonderful, but the social dynamic needs to be addressed. I realize you can't conquer ROME in a day... but my child doesn't have time to wait for the evolution. Education begins @ home... and what some of these parents here have taught their children will not serve them to the greater good as they progress in life. Good Luck...

Great school BUT very click "ish" for both child and parent. If you don't fit into their groups you're left out in the cold.
