All Glendora schools are amazing! Not just academically but socially. It's small and safe community and the staff and teachers really care about the students. I have a son in the high school and two children at Goddard Middle School. Most of the staff have worked there many years and many have come from the same schools. The counselors are all very helpful to make sure the kids are in the correct level. My son really enjoys the club, diversity and sports that they offer at this school.

I'm giving this school a 2 based on nearby schools, such as Claremont High, Bonita High, and San Dimas. I think this school is lacking compared to the other schools when it comes to preparing students to be competitive for college admissions. They do not offer as many honors level courses that are accepted by the UC system. They only accept AP courses, and many students can't take AP courses until 10th grade at the earliest. Some are not offered until 11th grade. The other schools offer APEX and IB curriculum starting in 9th grade, which helps students become more prepared and competitive for selective colleges. Also, the lack of parent communication is horrible. There are so many events, academic programs, etc. that parents seem to be unaware of because the school doesn't communicate to parents (honors society, California scholarhip federation, etc.). They don't provide enough information for parents to help kids take appropriate courses. I've had to learn and research along the way and unfortunately, our first child in the high school has been our Guinea pig and was unable to take advantage of opportunities. Their website is lacking information. Had I known better, I would have selected a different high school for our kids. However, it's too late now. If you have a choice between Glendora, Claremont, Bonita, or San Dimas, they are all better than Glendora in my opinion. The teachers have been great (most of them), the environment seems safe and friendly enough, but the academics and communication are lacking!!!

If there’s anything i could change from my highschool experience it would be not transferring from this pit of hell sooner the teachers and staff could care less what you learn they’re there for the paycheck and not to help you learn their is maybe 5-10 good teachers in the entirety of this school and i can confidently say i have never felt worse in my life than the environment and feeling this place gave me when i transferred my senior year my new schools teachers and staff were so nice and welcoming and when i would ask for help or something the teachers would take their time to work with not only me but with the other students who needed help aswell which only a handful did at glendora so make the wise choice and don’t put your child through this experience

I went to high school here a couple years ago i graduated already. Did not really have a good experience here. Before graduation came everyone gets there grades, well I was a rsp student an for some reason my counselor thought it would be a great idea to give me a normal English class even though I knew I wasn’t ready so basically I tried getting out of it an she didn’t want help me change my classes my English teacher wasn’t a great help either when I asked help to get my grade up she didn’t want to help me cause she didn’t like me and she played favorites in the class. I did the senior project an last min before graduating she told me I needed one more credit to graduate well I ask her how can you help me get my grade up she looked me in the eye while I was crying an said your not walking at graduation but you can still get your diploma. 4 years I went to Glendora working my butt off just to get this response from this teacher an on top of that I was a 4 year athlete. So I hope this rating helps for parents who have rsp students don’t expect these teachers to help your children cause they won’t.

I feel like students here aren't learning, just working. My main concern is the teachers due to the fact that they don't care about you and what you're going through. The way that they teach is definitely not good enough for a school in a good neighborhood with good people. Some of these teachers give way to much work because they want them to be "prepared" for the next grade. I feel as if they give out more work then they teach. Teachers make students stare at the work they give us and computers all day and wonder why we aren't energized enough to do their work. I feel like students here aren't learning, just working. The school offers no indoor lunch areas for when it gets super hot or it's raining, leaving students soaked and cold or burning hot. Some teachers like to change Air conditioner or heater tempuatures to only what they like, and rarely listen to the students opinion. Counselors put you in classes that either you don't need, or classes you needed to take the year before. Would I recommend going to this school? If they made a few changes, yes.

I am a current student here and I wouldn't say I like it. The boys here are so sexist and gross. I am a current sophomore and do not feel happy at this school.

I am currently in my junior year at Glendora High School and in my overall opinion and experience, minus freshman year because of online learning, I am not the biggest fan of this school. I have made some good friends and memories and the counselors can help when you ask them about issues. However, there are many cons to address about this school that teachers and staff need to look into but don't. On the 2nd day of sophomore year, I have been yelled at by another PE coach because I was confused about where to put my backpack. Recently this year I have been falsely accused and embarrassed by my math teacher because she believed was hiding my phone and not wanting to put it up when I wasn't. There is no table for the students to sit on which literally every other high school has which can be harder for people to make friends. The school campus desperately needs a redesign and the cafeteria is hilariously small, not to mention everyone else cuts in line and this would never happen in my middle school. It's honestly really sad this is the best representation of what Glendora has to offer and I'm sure other people and even teachers can agree with this. I'm not saying all teachers are bad because I have amazing teachers who are genuinely here to help and not just there for the paycheck but the number of flaws that school has really made it difficult to justify me actually having a good time here.

My son is completing his junior year we are pleased. The staff easily engages the students, we always in the know. Meeting with teachers or administrators is a phone call or an email away. His counselor (Mrs. Salle) has been outstanding and eager to listen and guide if needed. He has been thriving throughout his career and GUSD. There are so many opportunities for those who seek them out. He is on an education plan due to his Autism. He is the most active participant of his plan with his teachers and counselors at the ready, we the parents are mostly the observers as he prepares for life. Parent participation is high, campus is beautiful, with many outstanding facilities. He loves the odd end schedule and thrives not having to attend as many classes in a day. They have Tartan University off campus as to cover the other side of town where you can get college guidance. The orientations each year are well thought out, well planned and informative. As with any schools there are a few misses, such as the bathrooms not being clean, that seems to be caused by the students. The cafeteria food is not of his choosing or some of his friends. He packs extra lunches to share as he and some of his friends refused to eat the food. Administration seems to lack a presence at some on campus events that have the potential to become rambunctious. Some of the office ladies seem annoyed when you need their services, don't understand why as they are there to serve the public, we simply give them bigger smiles, chocolates help too!The recent retirements are concerning, I hope they are by choice, as this is a thriving school and not a failing school.I don't care for the style, or statements of the superintendent, in my opinion she best be gone, and a poor choice by the school board.

Not impressed. Sent 2 kids here so far. It's a very old and run down school that offers nothing special. The classrooms need upgrades so bad. The lockers are rusty and mostly non functional. The PE department is a joke. Broken equipment, no gym lockers . Very little arts. Nowhere for students to sit and eat lunch. No indoor lunch options in rain or 100 degree weather. I have no idea why a school in this town can be so bad. Ugly campus. Sports and band are the financial priorities.

As the previous parent mentioned, though there are positive experiences over the years with generations of graduates, there are still those same negative ones. The administration is definitely a problem, instead of effectively supporting the students they themselves are the ones bringing them down. They will take your kid and your money but don't ask them for respect or equal treatment. If you aren't part of that elitist group then expect to get ignored. I had a child accused of selling lunch tickets and threatened by staff without even hearing her out and when it was later found out they were being stolen from our mailbox did they even bother to apologize of course not, their excuse "well no one got hurt", explain that to the ethnic child who's first reaction of her you got was she was doing something illegal. I have another child on her last year and once again the staff has allowed mistreatment, allowing a janitor to yell and throw stuff at these kids simply for borrowing trash bags. These kids were excited for their new initiative to better the school but instead they have their spirits crushed. If they were part of the political elitist group this school is run by the administration would be all for it. It's sad to see a school be focused on nothing more than money when these kids are our future.

While having many positive experiences over the years though generations of GHS graduates, one negative persists. Many Glendora administrators and some teachers are not in the profession for the right reasons. They will say anything, any lie, to make parents go away, not all parents, not the ones that are their friends, not the ones that work for the district, not the ones that have enough money or community prestige. The parents that just want the best for everyone's children are mocked and laughed at. While the district will take any student and the money that follows them, don't expect to have fair and equal treatment from the district and especially the current principal Mr. Paul Lopez. You can't just blame him because he has the full backing of Dr. Voors and the board for this elitist attitude and behavior. Hopefully as this current wave of citizens are taking back their country, good parents will take back their school and we will be able to say GHSi is great again.

I attend ghs they have great courses but they make it difficult for students who know that they aren't going to a 4 year right out of college by not helping them set up a schedule that will fit their academic ability. And I have had a lot of teachers who are lazy and don't teach. They just hand us packets and expect to learn. I would say 4 out of 5 teachers that I've had have treated other students better than they treated me. You have to be someone big in order to be treated normal. And one of the worst things about GUSD is star testing. They stress student out and cause them to cram just so they try to do well on a test that only benefits the school. This cause teachers to rush through important lessons. Sorry for ranting but I just wish the school had a better system to benefit kids with different learning abilities

Great school. GHS offers very tough courses and great opportunity for achievement with great teachers. Great Associated Student Body and activities. High API and most of the graduates get into great colleges. Uses block schedule which works great, and allows students with extra-heavy loads (0 and 7 periods) to not have too long of days.
