Pickett is wonderful school with the hardest working teachers I have ever seen. Theses teacher go above and beyond the required work and actually care for each and every student. We came from a great school in Pflugerville but I believe this school provides more individual attention in each student. I often have lunch with my children and see regular education students constantly including special education student in recess activities. The kindness, inclusion and treatment of these students by others is awe inspiring. There is a high population of low income students which I believe is the result in lower test scores but this school, students, teachers and administration is the best I could ask for and I would totally recommend this school.

Small schools are very effective and individualized. Love the teachers, staff and the personal attention to the kids. Keeping the ratings aside, highly recommend the school.

Pickett has been wonderful for us! We've been there several years and have had fabulous, caring teachers and great office staff. My children have been appropriately challenged and have thoroughly enjoyed their teachers. The new principal is wonderful; Pickett is a great place!

This is a warm and loving school. Teachers are motivated. My daughter looks forward to school every day. I love the new teachers this year too! This is my last year at Pickett as all of my children attended and are now moving to the middle school and high school. This is a great school with a very open and receptive staff.

This school should improve greatly now that it has a new Principal. The kids and parents are unhappy at this school.

We just moved to the school this year. At first I was concerned b/c of the diverse ethnic group and clear attendance of low income families. After settling in, my daughter who is in 5th grade, is very happy at this school. I must say she is in advanced (GT classes) and that helps keep her education in top shape. The school is older, smaller and more quaint than many of the new elementary schools. The staff at Pickett is overall very good. I would rate this school as average to acceptable.

Our daughter attends Dell Pickett and is so unhappy and I feel she is being cheated out of a good education. We're currently looking for another place to enroll her. Our concerns are the same as shared by some of the other unhappy parents. Some of the other kids who attend this school have no manners, use curse words, and have harassed our daughter so much that she no longer enjoys going to school. When we speak to administration about the issues, they always make excuses and say they'll look into it or that they'll do their best, but then nothing much changes. I have no doubt that our daughter isn't an angel but the school needs to get control over the students. If the bad behavior wasn't tolerated, I have no doubt that the environment wouldn't be different. Her teacher seems great, but stretched far too thin. Add to that the fact that the focus is teaching to the test and the teacher & kids don't have much chance, do they?

Warning to all parents: Georgetown ISD does not do transfers. If you choose to send your child to Dell Pickett, be aware of the consequences. Your poor child will be stuck at this school no matter how many problems you have there. Sure someone will listen to you, things will get better for about a week or so. Then out of obligation, you will continue to be listened to. No real resolution here folks.

Not a very friendly school. My child goes to this school and is truly unhappy there. The head Principal says it's because the kids there are from "working class" families. So I guess they are expected to behave badly and because of how they are being raised, it's tolerated. If you have a good child, they do not belong at this school. Pickett needs a Warden not a Principal.
