We just finished our first year at Mitchell and had an amazing year. Staff was kind, caring, and very responsive to any/all questions. My son blossomed over the year and is excited and happy to go to school each day! We can't wait for another year at Mitchell!

My daughter has been through kindergarten and is now in first grade at Mitchell. We’ve had nothing but great experiences with everyone who works there.

We are so happy that we were re-zoned from Annie Purl to Mitchell. Much better experience, learning environment and it is much closer to home.

Our family loves the staff & teachers at Mitchell. They are dealing with students whose parents haven't tried to train, so instead of being able to focus on teaching core curriculum, they are having to teach students how to listen to learn, and actually teach curriculum, which the state changes often. The principals are doing a great job of reaching young hearts, and letting families know they are there to help. They have a kind and compassionate hearts. They have their own children, which attend Mitchell too. The teachers are wonderful and pour so much of themselves into the children, but without support from parents, and 'leadership' , outside of the school, it's hard to be everything to everyone. GISD needs to support ALL campuses, sadly that is lacking. I am thankful my child is at Mitchell Elementary, with kind, caring, compassionate, wonderful, teaching people.

HORRIBLE. I would pay to send my child somewhere else to keep them away from this place.

I have been very pleased with this school! My son is performing very well and I love his teacher! The new dual language program is such a blessing to be a part of. I know my son is getting an excellent education.

What a great school. Diversity at work. There are issues and kids from tough backgrounds, but that's the real world. My 3 daughters have gone to school here and I have no complaints!

Mitchell Elementary is blessed with terrific principal leadership and dedicated teachers and support staff. The parents who are involved with supporting school learning activities are great with sharing their time and talent. Local high schools, Sun City retirees, plus Southwestern University staff and students are wonderful in enhancing & promoting education partnerships / Pals program, foreign language teaching, science exhibits, sports - learning motivation opportunities, after hours programs, and more !!! An increase of parent involvement within American schools is sorely needed.

James E Mitchell Elementary I am a grandparent and retired educator. I currently have 3 grandchildren attending Mitchell Elementary. One could not ask for a better environment. Wonderful caring teachers, happy children, excellent administration. Everyone has the children's best interest at heart.

I have two kids attending Mitchell currently. They love going to school. Their days are filled with plenty of activities so they arent bored. Computer labs are up to date. School has GT program. The principal is awesome! Each morning their say the pledge of allegiance, the Texas pledge and sing a song before announcements. They have PE classes as well as music and art. In the fall they offer after-school clubs. Each grade gets to perform in a play or singalong or some sort of program. And each grade gets to take 2 field trips. Im not involved with the PTA so I cannot talk about that, however I do wish they would select different fundraisers each year instead of the same old one. I dont currently own my home, however I am choosing to stay here in the limited neighborhoods that feed Mitchell just so my kids can finish elementary school here. I can only hope we find a middle school as good as this.

The teachers my children have had so far are great. There are a couple that leave something to be desired but luckly we have'nt gotten one. I really like the principle, I really hate the PTA the people who are in charge havent even graduated highschool. I actually have seen them standing outside in my neighborhood screaming and cussing at each ohter. Its sad because the school is really nice they just need to get some people out.

Great school! Teachers are there for the kids when it looks like so many of their parents aren't. Kids are met by smiling teachers in the car and bus lanes every day and are happy to be there. The principal cares about his teachers and kids! I'm proud to be a Mitchell parent!
