I went to school here from grade 6-8 and the teachers do not engage in the environment healthily. There’s certain teachers that have definitely made a better impact on me than others as someone who graduated middle school a year ago. The environment is harsh and disgraceful, you aren’t considered welcomed unless you’re a white “attractive” male. I am a transgender student and got harshly bullied until eighth grade and the staff do nothing about it, and are far too worried about treating us all like children. The food is okay, has been undercooked or occasionally moldy a few times from my experience, but they provide free lunches. The current principal is extremely trusting and their counselors/psychologists are understanding.

GMS has no idea how to handle teenagers!!! It is both disgraceful and mindboggling to watch how much the staff and administration here tolerates student misbehavior! You can't spend a day in here without witnessing students hitting each other, disrupting class, and bullying each other in the halls. And they wonder why scores are so low? Because learning isn't the priority here! As a substitute teacher, I refuse to work in this building as long as Mr. Calabria and Mr. Fairben are in charge. They offer no support nor do they enforce the rules or discipline. Send your child somewhere else.
