Our experience has been wonderful! My daughter is loved and cared for almost like she is with family when she is at school. She has lots of learning opportunities and loves to come home and tell me all about it.

The best experience! Coming from a small preschool we were so nervous about a big school like west view but it feels like a family! The teachers are wonderful and caring, the office staff is awesome, and so far I am SO IMPRESSED with the new principal. We love West View!

If I could rate this school a 0 I would. I HATE that my child has to go to this school.

We moved here from Orange County California. My son had 36 students in his class in California and the school was blue ribbon rated 10 on great schools. I am FAR happier with this school and what they have done for my son. When we started here he was 2 grade levels behind because in California they dont have the resources or time or staff to help kids. At West View they spend the mornings helping my child catch up and he has caught up 1.5 grade levels in 2 months which is incredible. And it was all free. I am so impressed with the school and what he is learning. More than happy to be at this school. I believe the rise in Garner population is slowing down the ability for staff to be fully effective 100% of the time but I think in the next few years this school will be rated a 9 or higher.

My son has been going to Westview since kindergarten, and he is now finishing the fourth grade. I am surprised at the negative comments, especially regarding communication. This year alone, I get weekly phone updates, his math and reading teachers both use Remind, and they send, and respond quickly, to emails. Maybe I lucked out and happen to get educated, knowledgeable, friendly and warm hearted teachers who teach well, have high expectations, and care about my kid. Each teacher, each year, had talked about my son to me in ways that tell me they actually KNOW him. I periodically check the State Standards and can say his teachers DO teach what he has to know, and they most certainly don't just hand him worksheets all day. As a working mom, I go to awards, field trips, fun run and volunteer when I can. I'm not sure why people consider it cliquey, but maybe I just have too much self respect and intelligence myself to feel "bullied" by grown ups. My sons continued improvement, blossoming self esteem, EOG scores and grades indicate to me that Westview does it right and does it well. Special shout out to Ms Butchet for being the teacher who was the best possible teacher my son could have had without realizing how much he needed it. Another shout out to Ms D'Agostino for always being on point and having structure in her room that key kids be individuals but also raised the bar. And, thank you Ms Liles and Ms Wagner... You've had patience and expectations and your communication has been great!!!

We moved out of Wake County specifically for the schools in this area. I have not been overly impressed with the school or most of the staff. My child's teacher and assistant seem unenthusiastic to say the least. How is a child supposed to be interested in learning when the teacher appears to not be interested. My child is not a trouble maker in class so appears to get little attention other than the short group instructional periods with the teacher. Otherwise they do centers by themselves which is pretty much filling out worksheets. As mentioned in previous posts communication regarding events is lacking.I was excited to have the time to volunteer in child's class but was basically told no thanks only to find out another parents who is "in" was allowed twice a week. The atmosphere is definitely very cliqueish. After hearing such great things about the schools in this area we were have not been impressed.

West View has challenges, specifically with communication. Some teachers use email and some do not. If there is no teacher response, there is no follow up or accountability. The principal is very friendly BUT does not respond to email or phone calls. There has been several issues with bullying. Usually the victim is blamed and the bully is not dealt with. Again, no follow up. Overall, communication is poor regarding days off, activity cancellations, extracurricular activities...unless you are a parent who volunteers daily.

My biggest complaint with the school is lack of communication. The website is lackluster even though it has been "improved". I sent out many emails to my child's teacher and principal over the last year that we're never returned. We moved to this area because the school was highly rated, but we have been under impressed.

I am very impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of the teachers at this school. Upon entering the school you immediately feel safe and welcome. The teachers and staff are knowledgeable and nurturing. My daughter absolutely loves going to school each day.

My son has been attending since he started school. i substitute, volunteer, and am part of the PTA. I'm a single mom on limited funds, but I love being able to do whatever I can for the staff, teachers and the kids. They are the future and this school is blessed to have such caring teachers!!!

Before moving to the area 4 years ago we researched and visited many of the schools in the area. We were impressed with the leadership, staff and program at Westview (and it's secondary schools), leading us to buy a home in this district. Now, with 3 school years behind us (with 2 children enrolled), we are extremely happy with our decision. There is solid instruction by caring and vested teachers with many opportunities for growth- they work to meet your child at their level and help them excel. The principals are always available and are involved in the many programs going on in the school. Thank you Westview!

Apparently my child got the wrong first grade teacher. She was nice and all, but failed miserably at teaching my child handwriting. Now he has habits we're struggling to break. And of course, it's the parent's fault.

Great school with great staff! The teachers meet children at the child's level and challenge the advanced children. I love this school and my children attended this school since it opened.

An amazing school. I moved OUT Of wake to Garner to enroll my children in this school. I do not regret it for a minute. You could send your children to private school and West View will outpace them in a heartbeat. Fantastic school; Yes, they expect a lot from the kids but so what? It is up to us as parents to deal with a little 'stress' and help our children succeed. Bravo, West View!
