I don't know where they get the 14:1 ratio, when my kids started they had 5 kindergarten classes with a ratio of around 30:1, this past year it was at best 24:1 in the class. Bully kids in the school are moved to another class and not punished, kids from other areas of MoCo are bused into the school which is insane as the school is already over crowded. The teachers are great, the principals are great; MCPS School Board is ruining this school by over crowding it with kids from other areas.

This school is a total hidden gem! From the principal down to any and all teachers and staff members, you walk in and feel like this is a part of your village. Amazing school/family/community engagement. Very strong PTA and parents that are always willing to jump in to support their amazing school staff. The only thing I’d love to see grow is the academic rigor for students who need a more challenging environment in school. There’s a ton of focus and support for students who need additional help but it feels like the students who are excelling academically, get left behind.

Jones Lane is the best case scenario school in MCPS. The principal and assistant principal are rockstars. The school is small and close-knit. The PTA is very active. The school population includes the affluent neighborhoods nearby and more diverse areas from farther upcounty. So, the community is diverse and inclusive. Everything about the school ideal.

There is a white parent clique at this school and they bully the administration through the PTA Leadership and the other parents through the rumor mill. These women have way too much time on there hands.

Jones Lane is a smaller school than those in the nearby area. My son is starting Kindergarten there and they only have three classes as opposed to many nearby schools with six or seven. We couldn't be happier with his teacher, Ms. Xie. We are looking forward to a terrific hear at JLES.

My son is going in this school, and we feel this is one of the best schools we have been known for. Very good teachers and programs with full support to my kid. Bar-T is with school, so it makes our life easier and safe for my kid.

Amazing network and neighborhood of supportive parents, active PTA, eager teachers and pleasant "small school" feel.

The principal do not hear the parents and do not really care or even know the name of some kids. This school needs to start working on getting better. It is going down and I am sad to see this.

This is my daughter's first year at Jones Lane and the academic quality and warmth of the school community has far exceeded our expectations. The teachers and administrators are excellent and the broad array of co-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities is astounding. I really think Jones Lane deserves a rating of 10 and I can't imagine sending my daughter to any other school. All students thrive at Jones Lane!
