This school has consistently gotten worst in the past few years. Mrs. Nazzaro the principal really does not care anymore. She just wants to collect her paycheck and do the least amount of work possible. The school has a safety issue as my child had been bullied so much and the school keeps telling me they were accidents. Even the pediatrician is concerned with amount of times we have gone to them due to my child getting hurt at school. There is no discipline for the bullies and my child is constantly told that they are accidents and to apologize to the bullies. My child is now in therapy due to experience at this school.

If only other complaining parents would take time and post their experiences, this school would get the attention that it deserve > ONGOING INVESTIGATION!We moved from another state a couple of years ago and within weeks of my son starting school, his teacher diagnosed him with being frigidity, lacking attention span and too chatty. I addressed this and pretty much asked her to back off. They were not satisfied, so the school's counselor who was recently fired or transferred elsewhere, decided she would call my son's previous school to request "behavioral charts". My son's old school called me up to inform me and noted that they informed the counselor that a behavioral chart does not exit, everything that does exist were transferred the right way directly to the school AND that they are not releasing any information without my consent. This was a red flag for me. I addressed this with the counselor and Mrs Nazarro , who totally defended her staff and the staff denying it. According to the counselor, she called the school to ask what forms were needed to be filled out to make any requests needed. To date, we requested a transfer out of the school and it was approved within days, My son began saying that "life has to end" WHEN his classroom teacher announced to the classroom that he has Special Needs. It came about when his classmates asked why he had received so many "Eagle Tickets". My son and his friends stated that he does not have nay Special Needs, to the point where my son became very upset and in tears. At this point another staff was called in. When my son explained what had happened, she told him that he was a liar and that he would be one when he grows up. When my son came home and shared with me, I sent an email asking for an explanation of what had transpired, at what point had my son become diagnosed that I was not aware of. They met with me five days later, no urgency! An email was sent on a Thursday, (first week of school) and instead of receiving a reply from any of the four staff that were copied on it, my son came home the Friday to explain to me how the Assistant Principle, had questioned and yelled at him and told him that he is causing problems for the school. There is a subtle oppression happening at this school. The kids refer to the staff as bad cops. FYI, I hate the slogan "welcome to Montgomery County" that's all I hear smh

TMES is a good school, but there are underlying problems that will only get worse. The school is overcrowded, so resources are strained. The teachers, administration and staff are good, but there is not a lot they can do most of the time because making a change in one class means sacrifice in another. There is a core group of parents that support the school, but they too are being asked to do more every year without more support. TMES is the overlooked sibling by the rest of the district. They are not the most overcrowded in its cluster, so it gets placed second. They do not have the most disadvantaged students in the cluster, so they get placed second there too. As a result, it is often overlooked and has to do with just getting by.

I have a child on his third year going to TMES I love this school, love the teachers, principal, administrative staff, etc. My son has an IEP due to a language disorder and ADHD and the teachers have been great with him. The staff involved in the IEP meeting are always looking his best interest at heart. Mrs. Nazzaro is a very nice principal who always smiles but you can see she is firm when she needs to be. I am trying to stay as long as I can where I live just so my son can keep going to TMES.
