I gave one star because I had to or there would be zero stars. This school has a bullying problem and the teachers and principles do not care. They make the child believe they are accident prone. My son came home with a bruise the size of a baseball because another student hit him with his cast. The teacher and principles said it was an accident that he walked backwards into the students cast. More then one child in the classroom his being bullied by the same person and the teacher always tells them it was an accident and physically checks the children for marks and says they are fine. The principles don't let me change classes because the way they set up their classes the children's attitudes might not clash... REALLY?!? The teachers and principles are being just as much a bully as the student hitting my child. I have went in and spoke with everyone administration wise and teacher wise. I called the school board a week ago and all's that I get is we are working on it I'll get back to you. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!!!!!!

The teachers and staff helped both of my children adjust to a new school in the middle of the school year. They understood that my children weren't in the same place in the curriculum (although they should have been since they were in the same town at previous school!) and helped them both to catch up and do well. Both children were on honor roll

I reviewed once before, and in the two years that my child has attended this school, my views have changed. I think that this school, like most are just worried about scores and budgets. I guess it was wishful thinking that this school was something special. It isn't.

This is an amazing school. Mrs. Holmes, the principal is extremely engaged at all levels of the schools operations and academics. Mrs. Estep, K teacher, is one of the best teachers I have seen.

The school staff is wonderful. Most of the teachers seem to care about the students. The one problem I have is that there always seem to be new teachers, and when I say new I mean fresh out of college with little to no experience. Which can be frustrating when dealing with them.

This is a wonderful school with a dedicated, caring and professional staff. I have never seen Ms. Holmes look anything other than 100% professional. The review posted yesterday stating that there is no color and no playground is simply NOT TRUE. There may be little color on the last day of school because they start cleaning up and taking things down, but if you go into this school at any other time of the year there are posters on the wall, bulletin boards, pictures of kids, science fair displays, etc. everywhere. There are beautiful murals painted by one of the parents on the walls. The building is old, but is clean and well maintained. They even have central air conditioning! As far as no playground, this is not true. There is a large playground, fenced in, with mulch. Some of the equipment was just added last year. My son is a third grader here and just scored advanced proficient on all his SOLS (three of the 4 were perfect scores!) This is an awesome school. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, sure, but you should not be allowed to post things that are factually not true! And what this person said about Ms. Holmes, the playground and the lack of color are not true!
