My child was bullied the whole time she was here. Not much was done to stop the bullying. Not what I expected from a school whom I trusted my child’s wellbeing with.

Overall good school with mostly great teachers. Most of the teachers are very patient with vast experience in teaching. Our kids have had a great time over the years. This school was thriving under Mr. Wasser's leadership. In comparison, the current principal's idea of family engagement is only limited to asking for donations from the parents. There's no feedback channel from the parents and the parents we have interacted with fear retaliation from the school office led by the principal. Rules which the new principal has brought about are a clear testament to this. We have witnessed the principal showing zero compassion towards students/parents situations on multiple occasions. It's best to stay clear of the principal and the office if you want the kids to have the mental peace to succeed at school.

Both of my kids went here, We’ve volunteered for all field trips, we’ve met all teachers, students in our kids classes, everything is top notch, the under achievers may dislike or complain due to being lazy to study or help their own children. The teachers with 35 students can only do so much, it’s the parents responsibility to help their kids. All the teachers my children had were all caring and know how to teach, how to relate to students, they’re all A+ IMHO.

I had my child attending Ardenwood. My son's experience in his class was not easy my son was struggling in class, he would come home everyday stressed out with frustration he was always overwhelmed with his 4th grade teacher because she would not help him when he asked for help, she would tell him to complete it even if you can't understand it, and at times she would tell him have your parents help you at home. This school is only great for kids who are advanced academically but if your child is behind in certain subject you better not rely on Ardenwood to help him catch up because they simply don't care and won't help a struggling student. I had to take him for outside tutoring. All the kids attending this school are mostly Asians and if you are not Asian the teachers dont care to focus on that student. I have a friend who has her child attending here and she also has experienced segregation. I made many attempts to email his teacher and several appointments with principal Elie Wasserand let me tell you it was complete nightmare dealing with Elie Wasserland- he is never on task or updated with anything. Like i said this school is great for Asian's and students who are not struggling academically bur if you're not Asian, you'll most likely feel segregated by the way Ardenwood staff's treat you along with the fact that a struggling student will not succeed at this school.

My children has had a wonderful educational experience at Ardenwood as well have I. The teachers are receptive and knowledgable and the staff is understanding and helpful. My children understand that both I and thier teachers have high expections of them. Ardenwood children receive non-academic enriching activities such as music, sports, festivals and carnivals. They do not know have priviledged they are, but I do and I applaud the Ardenwood Elementary Village for helping me to raise my children.

Great school! My daughter was in 4th grade when we moved here 4 years ago. At first she was very resistant about moving to another school, but soon found out that she loves this new school much better than the old one. Her reasons-- she has more friends with the same intellectual level, and the school has more short breaks that gives her energy. Most teachers are good. The most important thing is the environment. Families help each other in many ways. From volunteering in classrooms to help out in the math clubs; from driving to field trips to forming carpooling groups when the kids go to junior high... I am touched by the inter-racial cooperation in this school. It's a warm place to be, and to remember, both for me and my two kids.

I don't know why people ask about foreign languages in this school. If you want your kids to speak or write foreign languages, teach them yourself. My kids love the school, they like to go to school, they like their friends, the students there and their teachers. What else do you expect from a school? Yes, we have to spend time to tutor them on their homework and pay attention on how they behave in school per teachers feed back (and they do). Parents who complain about this school, just move your kids somewhere else, life is easy, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen and take your kids with you.

I just called the school this morning and was answered by one of the operator/staff. When I asked her about if computer classes were offered, she said curtly, "uh, No". I asked if the school offers language classes ie Spanish or Mandarin. She said again curtly, "no, this is an elementary school". I told her there are elementary schools within the district which teach foreign languages (Vallejo Mills, Arzeveda has a mandarin immersion program, schools in the Mission district of Fremont offer foreign languages. When I mentioned that elementary schools can offer foreign languages, she barked back, "only a couple". I was impressed by the high api score at this school, but turned off by that female staff's defensive and rude responses and tone. All she had to say was "no we do not offer computer/technology classes", "no we don't offer foreign language classes" and that would have been okay. Her tone was defensive and cold.

I have a son at this school and the teachers are very nice and work hard to educate the students. The teachers are strict but they teach the kids to follow directions and how to think.

Ardenwood has excellent teachers and a dedicated leader in the principal. The school provides challenging academics and a safe/nurturing environment for children. They were recently recognized as a "California Distinguished School" aka "Blue Ribbon School" in 2010.
