I found most of the teachers excellent but my children suffered religious discrimination by the faculty and the district was unresponsive and unsympathetic. I would recommend this school if you don’t plan to be included in all activities.

Scoring a school based on a particular aspect is borderline unfair. A student will do well if he/she shows interest in scholarship. This school provides robust academic curricular in addition to multitude of extracurricular activities aimed at developing the WHOLE child! Astute students would take advantage of all the available programs to be the next best Ivy League prepared student.

I’d give FHS a 9.5/10. My experience was beneficial and life changing.

I loved Freeport High School. We had so many programs, and extracurricular activities while I was there. The teachers are gems, as well as most of the staff. I know this school gets a bad rep, but honestly I have little to no complaints, other than the fact that they switched out guidance concealers 2 years in.

Worst Experience. No Preparation give for college whatsoever and was discouraged from applying to places other than Nassau Community College, the military, or worthless state schools. Students at this school have no brain cells because of how ineffective the teachers are and music or the arts are neglected for useless sports that will get no one anywhere.

I'm a 2008 graduate and I can honestly say FHS was a great school to attend. I enrolled into Freeport my Sophomore year after attending private school. My teachers were great role models and influenced me tremendously. Two of my siblings attend FHS now, and they are both enrolled in AP and honors courses. While there are sometimes fights, etc if students truly apply themselves (like in most situations) they'll get the most out of their education. Freeport High School and Freeport district schools for that matter may get a bad rap, but honestly it's one of the best kept secrets on the Island.

One of the best schools in the Long Island area. Excelent teachers and staff. Programs that help students be the best they can be. Excelente sports programs that not only changes students on there athletics capasity but care for students academic grades aswell. The school has high standers and work as a team with the parents so our children achive the best score posible.

As of today, I don t have a review as my child will attend as a freshman in September 2012. I do have my concerns. Coming from the outer boroughs, Brooklyn, NY to be exact, I first believed, perhaps naively, that Nassau County schools were superior to city schools. After reading reviews, listening to students, teachers, and parents, I ve deduced that Freeport is certainly not the best but it s not the worst either. It can be better! As my child begin their high school academic career at Freeport HS, I will definitely be involved and therefore check out the school culture and bring back my thoughts on this arena; Especially for other parents like me, who love the beautiful homes in Freeport but are put off by what they ve heard or here about the school and consequently reluctant to buy. So I m providing 3 stars from what I ve heard. As I have my own experience, my stars will commensurate to reflect my experiences.

Freeport High School, is a very good learning institution. As much as there are students that don't care, there are students that do care. Teachers are willing to work with students that are willing to work. There are always students that graduate and attend Ivy League schools. Additionally, the sports teams are good, improving and sometimes the best. It is shown with the football team as well as the cheerleading team. When it comes to bullying, it does happen but not as much, or viciously as in other schools. Most people that do get bullied do nothing to prevent it. There is a very diverse panel of students, and personalities. A famous footballer, and a rockstar have gone to Freeport High School.

Do not enroll your children to this school. Gangs, bullies, fights, people stealing phones for profit, teachers cursing are some of the many things that your students will encounter.
