Current school leadership owes the outgoing class and parents an apology for lacking objectivity and for telling teachers and staff that they can not wait for this class to leave the school. Do they have 35 more students incoming for next school year to fill this void? How much money from these families - that bridges were burned, has been left on the table? Clearly there is only concern for the leadership's feelings and not of the jobs of the teachers or staff. Lack of consistency and objectivity regarding punishments and infractions has been shown loud and clear. If leadership is gossiping and speaking badly about a child or family to you - wake up - because they are also speaking this way about you and your family.

Teachers work very hard with children and a good education is received. School maintenance staff works very hard but need more help to maintain a school, church and rectory. School administration lacks professionalism both visually (flip flops, leggings, hair style, oversized t-shirts, etc.) and in performance (discusses families and students with teachers, staff and other school families in an unfavorable manner). A true professional keeps their opinion of families confidential and knows how to behave objectively and appropriately. Regarding objective behavior, they targeted males in the upper grades and labeled them all as bad, poorly behaved and labeled them negatively to whomever would listen. New school administration needs to happen for this school to be successful in the future. Latest issue is with the yearbook. Administration is now trying to blame the yearbook company instead of admitting that the teachers responsible for the yearbook made mistakes. Just come clean and apologize it would be better for the school!

Parents are allowed to be involved - to volunteer and are encouraged to volunteer. This is a plus because you get to see what's going on in school and you get to know the teachers/staff. Children get a good education. Teachers are thorough, and engaging with children, they seem to work very hard. Concerns over how the school administration handles being professional. There is gossipy chatter and a true contradiction regarding the way children are spoken about by administration. It is time for a new administration in this school, one that has learned how to be professional. Being an alumni it was a difficult decision to remove my child from the school that I have loved so much.

St. Matthias provides the best environment and education for our children. The kids are challenged and very well prepared for the next step - high school. They're in a safe and nurturing environment.

SMS has been the best experience for our family. It is an all around wonderful school with people who care about your children. Hands down it is a top notch school!

When it was time for my husband and I to choose a school for our children, I knew St. Matthias was the place. As an alum, I knew first-hand the type of extraordinary experiences my kids would have here as well as the solid, Christian foundation they would receive. SMS is built on: Faith, Caring, & Excellence. These characteristics set St. Matthias apart. My children are in an environment that allows them to grow spiritually as well as academically; learning what it feels like to be part of a church and school community. The teachers at St. Matthias are smart, caring, and passionate. They are teaching the students character development, decision-making, and helping them build a strong-self esteem. It's for these reasons along with the parent-teacher, teacher-student, church-family relationships that make St. Matthias rise to the top. Daily, my kids are academically challenged, growing spiritually, and most important of all they come home with a smile. Thank you St. Matthias!

We have been a Saint Matthias School family for four years, and it has been the best decision we've made for our two sons. They are receiving an excellent education in a Christ-centered environment. SMS is true to their motto of Faith, Caring and Excellence. We love the teachers and opportunities our children have outside of the classroom. We are grateful for the positive values our children are learning that will carry them throughout their lifetime. This is truly a community where all are welcome. Thank you Saint Matthias.

St. Matthias is an amazing school. My wife and I 6 years ago visited over 20 schools. We started at SMS and ended our search back at SMS. It has been the best decision we made for our daughters education. The teachers, the staff, and the school community have been so great to us. The level of dedication to giving our children the best education is priceless. The parish community and level of dedication to educating our daughter in the Roman Catholic faith has also been so important to us.

We are second generation SMS family, with my husband and brother-in-law both being alumni of the school. The teachers are worth their weigh in gold, providing my two boys with personal attention based on their needs, individual talents and the attention to details of the curriculum - which I love. The Principal knows both my kids by name. The school's motto is Faith, Caring and Excellence and they practice what they preach. My children are not only receiving an excellent education, but they are also learning how to be more spiritual, community driven individuals. My children have been attending for 4 years. I recommend St. Matthias School, in case this review has not made it clear!

The school is large and clean. The rooms are very bright and well lit. But the teachers are not friendly with the kids at all. They have a very cookie cutter approach towards education. From my experience, if children have trouble settling down in PreK, the teachers make a very big deal out of it, and keep complaining to the individual parents. If the child is not completing their tasks assigned, no one will encourage the kids. This school is for self motivated children. Very negative environment. One boy used to cry everyday in the class and they used to call the principle and nurse to show how the boy is disrupting the class. (4 year old kid). No one bothered to calm that poor kid down. Some parents who volunteered for lunch, tried and helped calm him down. No one to one interaction with the kids from the teachers. I would not suggest this school for elementary level of education.

Fantastic school that nurtures every student spiritually, academically and socially. Academically rigorous curriculum is proven every year by exemplary test scores.
