Our daughter attended grades 1-7 and CHP helped her build a strong foundation. The value the school provides for quality of education / fees is exceptional.

This school is a for-profit organization and functions as such. Owner sets the tone of the education and is often off the mark since final say sits with her. Many of the teachers are not certifies teachers which shows up in how your child is taught. The books are outdated. No music program, arts program or drama program as advertised. School activities / sports are incorporated into the curriculum as an elective, but parents are charged an additional fee. The school needs serious cultural competency training because it's not inclusive. Academic Learning is self-learning. High volume of work that stresses the children out. Multiple incidents of students cheating on exams/tests from 4th grade thru 8th grade Many of the student/ parent population are friends and family and as a result, children who are not related/close friends are often mistreated mentally/emotionally. Parents are rude to one another and this behavior often causes the children to behave inappropriately. Some parents do not include all children at birthday parties which says a lot. Parents please look elsewhere unless this is what you find to be an acceptable environment for your child.

Enrolling our daughter in CHP has been the best decision that we ever made. She is learning at the speed of light but also more compassionate and has learned a great deal more about kindness and giving and is nurtured in her environment. The teachers are the absolute best. I am waiting for my son to join the CHP community as well. The administration is warm and welcoming, always there for their students - it is more like a family than just a school.

I feel Cedar Hill Prep is a great school. My son has been attending CHP for seven years and CHP has helped him to learn at an accelerated rate. My family is happy to be part of this warm and friendly community. The founder, principal, faculty and staff are very proactive in helping to nurture and assist in guiding the students in a poitive direction.

This school is excellent. My student attended an independent school prior to coming to CHP. CHP pays more attention to developing each student. The students who graduate from CHP thrive in high school and beyond.

We just moved here from out of town and were not familiar with public schools. So we tried Cedar Hill Prep. They recommended my daughter redo 1st grade. It was the best thing ever. I appreciated that they took the time to analyze where she was, and were not afraid to tell me what she needed. My daughter is really thriving there, enjoys doing her work and a really growing in terms of her reading. It really is a great school. I recommend it.

Our daughter has been a part of the CHP family since Pre-K. She is currently an eighth grader and CHP has become a second family not only for her, but also for us. All the teachers are very knowledgeable, sincere, dedicated, and ensure that the students thoroughly understand the concepts that are being taught in class. We have always been able to get an immediate and helpful response from all teachers any time we sent an email or had any questions. The Administration is always available no matter what the circumstances, and ever ready to discuss any matters or help the kids with anything. The school encourages the students to be part of the many clubs and sports teams. Our daughter is part of the soccer and basketball team and an active member of the various clubs of CHP. This has enabled our daughter to grow up as a well-rounded young individual. We are extremely satisfied with the level of education our daughter is getting from CHP, and she is very happy there. We are truly blessed to be part of this wonderful community.

Cedar Hill Prep is a nurturing, loving, environment that challenges it's children, yet still promotes their natural enthusiasm in academic success. Those that feel the curriculum is not up to par and call it non-American, fail to appreciate the diversity of the school and the lengths at which teachers go to teach the children in a way that promotes not only academic growth and understanding, but also a continued love of learning. The open lines of communication between faculty/ staff and parents is of utmost importance at the school. Never have I seen such easy access to the Head of School, who not only teaches, but truly loves each child as her own. The parents that bad mouth the school are those that want the school to parent their child, yet are first to complain when their child is held accountable for some wrongdoing. CHP has never to my knowledge disciplined a child in a wrongful manner. Their goal is to educate the child to make the right decision when faced with a difficult situation. The outside vendors that someone referred to CHP using are not negative entities. They are there to aid in the child's overall success.

My children have attend the school for 7 years and I am a very involved parent. I've never gotten a "deal" on tuition, however it is worth every penny, as they are getting top rate education at a very reasonable cost. Obviously, a parent has a gripe with the school and chooses to vent via this venue. The school is not for everyone and no one is forced to stay. It is a shame to have such ill-will and report false statements such as "Children are disciplined and chastised in a way that a local psychologist found appalling and dangerous." Teachers are very caring and constantly communicate with parents on every level, unlike many other schools. The children are the product of the caring environment at CHP, as they love their teachers and school. I'd like to know what school allows parents to be involved in their child's class placement? I've never heard class placement being determined by a parent. It is very disappointing greatschools.org posted the misrepresented review.

The school thinks itself academically rigorous because of the volume of work and non-US based curriculums. MOST of the teachers are NOT certified. Advertisements say "certified teachers" because there are a few. There are no extracurricular activities at the school. They sometimes hire outside vendors to come in and do things with the children for additional fees. No musical instrument program. No choice of language. No computer curriculum. No sports teams. Children are discouraged from (and often punished for) outside activities. Children are disciplined and chastised in a way that a local psychologist found appalling and dangerous. There is a lack of transparency about school decisions that affect the children like class placement and funding sources. It is a punitive environment for any child who has an expression akin to western culture. Docile, science and tech students will fit in well with the culture. If you want a well rounded child this is not the place. Oh, and not everyone pays tuition. To get SOME children to stay they cut deals in exchange for good PR.

I absolutely love Cedar Hill Prep. Our children are engaged in a challenging curriculum and they truly enjoy it. Our teachers are approachable and willing to go the extra mile to keep our children motivated to excel. I wish CHP would expand to the High School level.
