We love SMS! We have had an amazing experience. Our teachers have been wonderful. Our kids have thrived in this learning environment. We love the warm community and staff. The connection with the church is so wonderful and supports the children and our family’s spiritual journey without being judgmental. Overall, my kids love their friends and school. They are excelling in so many ways. We love the way SMS try’s to support parents by encouraging kind and respectful behavior. We are so thankful we picked this wonderful community to educate our kids!

We have been a part of this school community for 6 years. Our oldest is an LD student and our youngest learns easily…. Both of their needs were met and they thrived in the compassionate environment that the school creates.

I am so proud to say that all three of my children will be fortunate enough to go through their K-8 years at St. Matthew's. The culture is one that genuinely cares about their students and that shows through the staff as well as the relationships among students. Administration communicates very well with families. Education truly is top notch. Most of all, I am so thankful as a parent individually and for my children that we are just not part of a school... we are part of a strong and caring community.

This is our 7th year at SMS. We will have 5 children there next Fall. Our children like school and are thriving. Most difficulties have been dealt with constructively. The faculty is loving and kind. My children are growing in their faith and doing well academically.

My son has attended St Matthew for 2 years now and we feel this is a very safe, nurturing and educational experience for him. If you are looking for a traditional education (not the new crt, esl) this school has it. My son is excited to go to school and he is treated with respect. I review his curriculum and am able to go in at any time to chat with teachers about what he is learning. And so far what he is learning is what I learned 30 years ago. Math, reading, science, art, music, and religion of course. None of the esl that the public schools are teaching now. Thank goodness. The teachers here are all very loving and nurturing. We were having an issue at one point, I went in and we had the best chat...she also pulled my son aside that day and now they are best buds. Can ask for more than that with a teacher. They also have homework (the right amount) which our local public school does not do. My only request would be more science.

Saint Matthew School exhibits a family-like community with exceptional academics. The students are loved and the Catholic faith is at the core of everything they do. The school motto is lived out daily, Seeking Knowledge, Modeling Christ, Serving Others.

I would rate my experience at this school as degrading and inefficient. I attended St. Matthew from kindergarten to seventh grade. I hated my time there. I was one of 50 children in my grade, and that number never increased as my time at the school progressed. The children knew very little on how to correctly interact with others outside of their social groups and outside of the 50 children in the specific grades. Some of the teachers were cruel, and did not stand for any child to have an imagination or an opinion of any kind. Bullying became a problem once middle school started. Teachers paid no mind to the students who were the brunt of the bullying. The students were not allowed to express dismay or any sort of dislike with the staff at all. During my time at this school, the only things I learned were to keep my head down, my mouth shut, and to not question those in charge, even if the ones in charge were cruel. This school wants it’s students to solely learn obedience and complete discipline, rather to allow children to grow into their own and learn about themselves.

St. Matthew School has proven to be a caring, Christian environment that supports each student individually. The faculty and staff consistently live out their school motto; seeking knowledge, modeling Christ and serving others.

We cannot imagine a more perfect school. When people ask me what my honest opinion is, I always say the same word: phenomenal. In every aspect, they are truly a united school and have their act together. Both of my children are in the middle school and while those years are certainly the toughest (both academically and socially) the teachers hold them to a high standard and are ALWAYS available to help them before/after school. The two newest teachers to the middle school, Mr. Bowlds and Mrs. Sweirgozs, are EXCELLENT and my kids get in the car everyday talking about things they've learned in their classes. I am continually amazed at the level of academics that St. Matthew's has and I will forever be grateful for the education my children are receiving.
