We have been at Gower for three years now and our children are growing emotionally, socially, and academically. We have had been so lucky with incredible teachers each year, and the Principal clearly cares so much about our school’s success.

Our experience with Gower has been wonderful. There are a variety of related arts offered and my children are excited to go to school each day. There is a strong sense of community with plenty of school events and opportunities for kids to build relationships. We love our neighborhood school!

My experience as a parent has been great so far. The principal at this school is a strong leader who expects a lot from teachers and students. The PTO is a great group. My children love being Gower Gators!

We have two children at Gower Elementary, and our experience has been excellent. Our kids are excited about going to school, engaging with teachers, and pursuing additional opportunities. The school strikes a great balance in terms of academic rigor and developing social and emotional skills. We've had wonderful teachers now for multiple years for both of our kids with only one, brief negative experience during the COVID pandemic, which has been a trying time for all students, families, and teachers. Ms. Frazier is an engaging principal and a strong leader, as is Mr. Campbell the assistant principal. For families in the Bellevue area of Nashville, we strongly recommend Gower Elementary!

I'm shocked at the reviews I've read stating that this school is "amazing" and that the staff are so "caring". My child started Kindergarten this year and I'm disgusted by the way their teacher talks and treats the students. She tells them to "shut your dog gone mouths" (literally the words she says) on a daily basis, calls those who have a bathroom accidents "babies" to the entire class, and punishes the entire class for the misbehaving of some of the children in the class. Nothing like killing the morale for the ENTIRE class by punishing all of the students for a few bad ones. This teacher also withholds afternoon snack (they eat at lunch at 10:30am) and recess (a child's outlet for sitting in a classroom all day) to punish the bad AND the good children, which she then sends occasional notes home to all parents about not sending snacks with their children and how they eat so early and can't go that long without one. It's insane! The communication from my child's teacher is close to non existent and because of COVID parents can't even come near the classroom/teacher. Children are told to shut up, turnaround, etc. for the slightest thing, even in the cafeteria as another parents review mentioned. It sounds like yelling and non-caring behavior is the standard here from our experience. It's so sad to think about what my child hears and sees at this school every day. If I could, I would pull them in a heartbeat, but unfortunately this is the school we're zoned for. For a first time parent to Gower, I'm completely unimpressed and highly concerned for my child. The Principal Frazier and the Assistant Principal aren't much better. They're too busy worrying about the car rider line (way too many voicemails to all parents on this topic) than the issues with the staff internally. I suppose that explains why this teachers behavior is acceptable/going under the radar and she still has a job there.

It has not provided my son with a sense of security at all. He is nervous to attend all the time and even took him out but due to zone schooling I have to deal with it.

Great! This school has exceeded my expectations, we transferred from one of the more "desirable" metro schools and I have been blown away by GOWER!Best decision to change schools and give our neighborhood school a chance!

My kids have thrived and excelled at Gower. Diversity among students' ethnicities and inclusion of special needs students is one of the main reasons I LOVE Gower. Caring teachers and staff. Tons of chances for parental involvement and family oriented events.

We love Gower! I have two children and they are both happy with their experience there. My oldest is now in middle school and my youngest still there. The teachers and staff have become like family. I am so glad we chose to live in the Gower School zone!!!

I could not be happier with my child’s teachers. She has had passionate, well educated, strong, caring & loving teachers in a well structured environment. Her learning is very good. Gower has much lower scores than seems plausible. I am not experiencing a below average education at Gower. It’s a great fit for us and we plan to continue there.

We love Gower. It is an inclusive loving environment for our children to begin their academic careers. I am so happy we gave it a chance when we moved to Nashville instead of lotterying to an optional school or just going private. The families are wonderful and we are getting more parent involvement as each year passes.
