I attended this school in the early and mid 80’s and had the worst education experience of my life. I was an advanced 2nd grader and put into an overcrowded 3rd grade class the next year. My third grade teacher made me write sentences for petty violations of her discipline code and most of the year I was forced to sit out recesses writing sentences after sentences. This made me hate school and by forth grade I didn’t want to have anything to do with it. I was held back in 4th grade in a split class of 4th and 5th graders the following year. It was humiliating and counterproductive. I grew to hate school even more and fell behind. I then moved away after that horrible year but the longterm scars affected me my entire life. I would hope it was recognized how horribly they messed up with me but who knows.. they saw me as the problem and didn’t question their system. I don’t have children, a companion, a home or career but if I had children i would never trust the public education system.

It is not a learning environment for our daughter with an individual learning plan. Everyone is kind to her, but they have falsified her testing to make it look like she is improving. When questioned, they said she can answer the questions “with help”. She has not learned to read or do basic math, and she is not encouraged to do any educational work outside of school either. Bizarre. Total waste of 2 years time. We are leaving.

The principle would rather see you go, than help you out of a 4th/5th combo class with a bully teacher (2014-2015 school year)

I love Forestville School and Academy. It's a wonderful, small community, where the teachers really know the kids and the parents really know each other because of the quaint size. The teachers are great, the administration works very hard to bring quality education to the students and teach good values, and there's a strong commitment to arts & music as part of the core curriculum.

Actually heard a yard duty aide tell students not to give her any s--- because she wasn't in the f------ mood for it. I don't even talk that way at home but it's okay to say that at school? and an employee!!

Agree with last post. There is definite bullying and no long-term consequences. Cycle just repeats itself. Pulled my daughters from this school because of this. Overall, would not recommend this school.
