Our experience with this school has been very positive. There are so many opportunities for the students to prepare for a wide variety of careers and trades. Many clubs and activities. There seems to be something for everyone. The students I have met are all polite and respectful. Truly amazing music programs.

An excellent school for completing AP courses to attend college, while also developing an excellent environment for student athletes and performing arts students.

The last thing you should do is send your child to this school.

So far, so good. Our daughter loves her teachers and enjoys all the variety available at FCHS. Teachers are above average and the music experience is unparalleled in this area!

I went to FC in the 80's, and now my children go there, and boy has it changed.... I know times have changed, but for all they preach about bullying, it DOES go on, and they turn a blind eye to it, even to the point of if your child is picked on, for 2 straight days, gets pushed, hit, defends themselves, they will be the one in trouble!!! Horrible communication when you try to speak to speak with the assistant of discipline at the school, only defends their actions! This school is about their sports, 4 star rating, and students who excel, any one else will be pushed through the cracks!!

I love everything about this school. The people, the teachers and general atmosphere of this school is fantastic! I would not trade it for any other school.

When my two children went to Floyd Central it was a fabulous experience for them and for me. My son did excellent in sports, football and wrestling (coaches TOP NOTCH) and my daughter soccer, swimming did very well. Even though I have moved from the area, my daughter has moved back to the Floyd Central area so that her children can come back to good schools. She will not be disappointed. The coaches, teachers and staff from Jr High to HS were great and the parents are caring and involved, supportive and very wonderful to be around. Floyd Central HS is the BEST!!

My son graduated in 2010 and had a great high school experience. He was in everything musical the school had to offer: marching band, pep band, jazz ensemble, and orchestra. He even played in the pit for the musicals for the theatre department. He is now a music major at U of L and I feel he received a terrific education as a foundation for college. Floyd Central has won all kinds of awards ie Blue Ribbon, Four Star, etc and has many programs of note and many athletic programs routinely go to regional and state competitions. There is active parent involvement at the school and contrary to a previous review, I found the administration to be very caring and accommodating. I wish I had a great school like FC to attend!

This school has serious deficiencies with special education and students with IEP's. The school personnel admit they teach to the masses and do not offer individualized options for those with learning disabilities. Just sitting through a CCC meeting you can see the disregard for the IDEA laws and refusals to offer specialized assistance. I am taking this battle on and hoping for more input because I cannot be the only person that has gone through this with them. Ironically, it is not usually the teachers that are to blame, but the administration that refuses to offer services to qualifying students.

This school is like your kids going through ranks. Bullying may not seem to exist. But it sure does. And most of all it's dangerous for my kids to join all these cliques.

We have lived in many states and sent our kids t omany schools and this is by far one of the best. The teachers expect excellence and the students raise to the challenge. They excel in sports and performing arts. We were very sad to leave the school. The girls cross country coach Carl is the best. You will not find a better school or community anywhere.
