I currently have two kids at Walker. My husband and I are both very pleased with this school. When Dr. John Koeneker came to Walker as our new principal he has brought a wonderful energy that can be felt throughout the school. At Walker, staff hold assemblies for the kids once a month. There they celebrate the kids' achievements as well as birthdays. Both staff and kids will get out of their seats and dance and be goofy. This school celebrates CHILDREN not test scores. I am very proud to have two children in this school.

The principal, staff and families of Walker are fantastic! They truly do all they can to make sure your children have a wonderful school experience. The student body is diverse as well as the staff. Everyone from the custodians to the principal to the PTA make sure that Walker is the best school around.

This school needs help. The administration of this school is terrible, especial Dr. Arbetter. The principal needs to be replaced. My children transferred here from Lawson on Charbonier and the difference is night and Day. Lawson is a wonderful school, full of caring teachers and office staff. Walker is not. Some of the teachers are good, but for the most part they need to be replaced. Even the Scouts (boys & girls) at walker are messed up. In the past 2 years there has been at least 3 instances of leaders stealing money from the troop. I would not recommend this school unless you want to traumatize your kids!
