The school environment here at Florence K8 is awful… The comprehension and academic goals are a struggle for kids with special needs. Also in a different aspect the social and emotional aspect is severally struggling. Teachers are mean and mistreat students & yell/scream at students!! My students come home with headaches because of teachers yelling and name calling. Students spanking my 10 year old calling her names and the teacher yelling at my child instead of consoling her and helping her feel safe. Staff in the office are rude and cold instead of kind and welcoming.. There’s a heavy focus on inappropriate corporal punishment (making students run ‘laps’ in the heat as punishment). punishment in for the students who cuss, moan, make sexual comments about students have no consequences. Terrible environment for children to be learning!

The school environment is not conducive to students’ educational growth, emotional growth, or social growth. Teachers/staff habitually mistreat students & yell/scream at students. Staff are negative/critical to students & call them names. Staff have even threatened students with violence. There’s a heavy focus on inappropriate corporal punishment (making students run ‘laps’ in 114 degree weather as punishment, etc.) & punishment in general. Not a very positive or supportive environment here for students.

My children have been enrolled for only a few months. I have no complaints and I can feel at piece leaving them there. I moved to the anthem merrill ranch looking for safer schools and a better environment for my children. My youngest child loves school and no longer cries about going and my oldest child is being challenged and loves it.

The FK8 treats each student as an individual. The staff is very welcoming. Student have access to a variety of technology and teachers incorporate tech in the classroom.

My school is a great school on the optimistic side. About the lunches being bad, why does it matter. It is still food. I believe the only reason that people don't like them is because they aren't junk food.

My granddaughter, has gone to Florence Virtual Academy since its inception. Principal Lineberry has done an outstanding job with this program. It is a program that allows students who are involved in many activities to continue those activities and still go to school and get a great education. She has nothing but positive things to report on FVA. She will enter college in a couple of weeks, to further that education.

I believe Florence K-8 is a great school, even when the other schools in district get all the new stuff, we are the last to get it. This could be a good thing, all the bugs are worked out. Our parents are grateful for what is given and don't demand everything now and new like the Bigger schools kids have moved from. WE ARE FAMILY ORIENTED! love the teachers (most of them) One big happy family (all families have some problems which is worked out) Small town Great People!!
