IEP process is a nightmare here. Before going through the process I wish I had gotten a lawyer and better known my rights. I also wish I had better documented the communication to staff at the school and only used email instead of phone calls to have a paper trail of whats been going on. Communication with staff has been poor throughout the process.

5 Star...Magma has been Amazing for my son!

Terrible, my student suffered emotionally and physically at this school. It is a drive to take my student to another school but completely worth it. A lot of parents that live in the Magma Ranch Community have pulled their children out of the school because of bullying, lack of good academic learning, and lack of support from Administration and teachers. The Districts academic test scores are very low!!!!!!!!

They are ok, but would not recommend this school if your child has a disability or special needs. They are difficult to work with and when it comes to IEP's, I recommend having a professional advocate go with you.

The staff at this school needs to be moved out and all new staff moved in. Between the large class sizes (the 19:1 ratio is a lie, my one child's classroom has 32 kids and my other child's class has 28). Bullying is a major problem at this school but nothing is ever done. I've seen so many families leave this school due to inept staff and bullying by kids. The school needs an overhaul.

pretty sad....they ignore issues, allow kids to use vulgar language, turn a blind eye to everything; a very ineffective school...should be shut down or new admin put in place.

Bring your family to Magma Ranch. Magma Ranch has made all the difference in my children's education. I brought my children to Magma Ranch from a different school because they were having a difficult time. At the old school, my children were failing and in trouble almost weekly. At Magma Ranch, my kids grades are much better and they never get in trouble. The feedback from teachers is always constructive and positive. They actively work to help my children. The only negatives I can imagine is I wish the principal would spend less time and money on sports and more time and money on academics. Also, the parents should be more active with the school.

This school is an amazing learning enviroment for any level your child is at in their daily learning process. This school prepares you for the next day, week, month,or year coming ahead for you child. I went to this school in first grade and it was the first year it was built, even though I was quite petite I remember it being the best school I have ever gone to and I have been to at least eight. The thrill and adventures this school takes you on fills me with joy to know that children will have the opportunity to go and be a part of this educated school. I would recommend this school for any age or academically leveled child because I guarantee you will have a great learning experience.

The teachers and staff truly go out of their way to make you feel welcome at Magma Ranch. The new principal is on a mission to establish Magma as a "School of Excellence" and his vision shines with the attitudes of the students: they want to be at school and are hungry to learn. It is refreshing to see so much positivity at school!

My granddaughter has attended 8th grade in this school since January. She came from a Catholic School in a much smaller city which she had attended since 1st grade. She didn't love the change but she didn't hate it which for a teen is saying a lot! She liked the teachers but found that some of the students were not so much bullies as lacking proper respect for their teachers and other students in class. She did well in her classes and though a shy person she made friends. The school bus drivers were often substitutes and she didn't like that some of the students riding the busses were often disrespectful of others and unruly. Overall her rating for was 7 out of 10. When I asked her rating for her previous school it was also 7 out of 10. The difference she says is that bullying was done openly at her last school where as at Magma it was more hidden. She says Magma needs a full time counselor who is available and walking around the school daily. Someone the students can feel comfortable talking to about bullying as well as other issues. The ratings are from her. She gave the principal a low rating because she didn't even know her.

This school is so horrible! I agree with what some of the other parents said about the bullies getting away with it. My child is being bullied and the school is just blowing me off... They speak to me like i am stupid, they talk down on me, don't listen to what i have to say and pretty much takes the word of the bully even though i have witnesses.. I am taking my kids out of this school and would NEVER reccomend this school!!!

This school is horrible with bullying!! Every time something happens to one of my children nothing happens to the one doing the bullying. There are always other "witnesses" that go against what my child says and the kids that I have talked to have the same story as my child. So "witnesses" are believed over other children? Something does not add up right....Then to make matters worse when one of my children defend themselves then they get a referral because they fought back??? Well what does it say to a child when they are bullied and the people that are suppose to be there for them don't listen, this is just sad.. I would not recommend this school to anyone, there are a few teachers that are good, but overall experience, your better off homeschooling or doing on-line schooling for them, they might learn more that way. At this point if I could get away with not putting a star then that's what I would do!
