The staff and deans refuse to acknowledge problems within the school, often turning down students in need of help. Hypocritical, as the preach about their willingness to better the school system.

Favoritism is given for status & money, not the best experience

All 3 of my children have had great experiences at HSE high school. Dedicated teachers and staff that promote success. My kids are minority and we don’t live in the “rich” neighborhoods. This hasn’t been a factor to my kids being in varsity sports or being successful in the classroom. I highly recommend HSE schools.

My student feels welcome and is learning a lot. He is excited about the variety of opportunities available.

Once was a great school system. Now one of the worst. Teachers are pushed to pass students who are failing. Sad once a great school.

Absolutely the worst experience in my life. Having ADD and learning difficulties growing up I was mocked and ridiculed constantly by the teachers and students. I was ignored when I asked for help on subjects the teachers openly mocked in front of class on why I should already be caught up. I was just worn down into nothingness. So ,I almost purposefully failed at everything because my thought was why even bother if I'm just going to be mocked and ridiculed at everything.I couldn't keep up the 5 hours of homework they sent everyday so I was in detention constantly. Nobody in the GD school offered any help. I wish and hope the absolute worst for the teachers and staff. They should be ashamed.

We moved to fishers and thought HSE schools provided many opportunities for our kids. Well, it certainly did. Opportunities for harassment and bullying, which they cover up. They do nothing to prevent student harassment and even worse, allow coaches and teachers to rule with fear and intimidation. We tried to file report but administration did nothing. They go out of their way to keep reports out of public. Would not recommend this school. Too large to care. Students just a number and they are more concerned with ratings and teacher bonuses then protecting and teaching kids. Find another district and school system.

I am a current student at HSE high school. Though I have great grades, I only have them because I feel I must push myself to the point of utter exhaustion. I have spent all of my life in this school district and without fail, every year brings more challenges that have effectively destroyed my mental health. The gifted program puts so much pressure on students that the people in it are developing physical ailments due to stress. Most students in the gifted program, myself included, now have a horrible fear of failure and multiple mental health issues. Most teachers are great, but especially with the homework, the pandemic has been taxing on all accounts. The authority figures do nothing to protect students from people who have bullied or hurt them and no action was taken after I reported someone 4 times. However, they do take action with petty drama. HSE is filled with racism, homophobia, and sexism to the very core and there is no effort to listen to students. I am LGBTQ and I have experienced so many horrible things from other people. You will only fit in if you are wealthy, white, and straight. Everyone is elitist and snobby and sports are the only thing that matters. The school spends a horrific amount of money on sports, specifically football, every year, but the team still somehow manages to lose almost every game. HSE attempts to seem "woke" with their staircase saying they accept everyone, but there are entire accounts dedicated to exposing homophobia and racism from teachers and students. There have been no statements released on any of it, even though the board knows about it. The two mental health professionals they have are horribly overworked and underpaid, even though we have the resources to fix that. Teachers are underpaid as well. If you want your child to be happy, DON'T go here. Fishers is the best high school in the district, even if it isn't much better.

Both my kids attended here from 1st grade through graduation. The schools should have worked harder to stay smaller, to provide a more personal experience, but if your child is an average to above average student, you will be happy with the education and the opportunities that this school will provide.

I honestly would give the school a five because there are many factors involved that I would give the school a less scoring for but I'm giving the school a five for the majority of the teachers and guidance counselors that deeply care about the students. If it wasn't for them I honestly wouldn't complete high school and I probably would have taken my own life a long time ago.

Amazing. Fully prepared me for my college career. Made college seem like a breeze

We chose Fishers, in part, due to the ratings of HSE HS. With two students, we were hopeful this would be a good place for them. We were very disappointed. The teachers and academics were fine. The other students were snobby and elitist. They had no interest in meeting someone new. My kids are outgoing and friendly. They tried over and again to make friends but were slapped down, ignored and looked down upon. It was a miserable year for them both. We are taking them out. If your student is very active in a sport, wealthy or otherwise "in", good. If not, look at a smaller school district. 3500 students. Too large.

The teachers at this school do not care for anyone that is not either an elite scholar, or wealthy. The extra curricular activities they have to offer are great, however, a majority of the students are very "proud" and rude. I would not recommend ever going to this school if you do not meet their exceedingly high standards.

This school does not care for any students who are different and aren't rich and "normal". If you plan on going to this school throw out every ounce of creativity. Buy some "normal" clothes. Would not recommend.

I am very impressed with the concern that the school personal shows for the students.

I attended HSE. I graduated as an above-average student. In general, I think the school helped me prepare for college. As a current college student, I know for a fact that HSE challenged me more than the high schools that some of my other friends attended. Pros: - Great athletic programs. Football and basketball teams are hard-working, even if they don't win. It - Great AP programs and scholastic challenges - a huge assortment of interesting classes for students to choose from. - Teachers that are dedicated to improving students' lives. - Great Fine Arts department - some of the best art teachers you will ever meet. Very dedicated to their program and making art accessible to everyone. - Great performing arts department and theatrical program. They set high standards because they want people who work hard and are actually talented. Cons: - The district seems a little too focused on the athletic teams. - Lunches are terribly unhealthy and there aren't a lot of options for people with any dietary restrictions. In general, I think this was a great school. Send your kid here if you want them to be prepared for college. If they work hard, they will succeed.

Very bad school. Do not send your child here if they are not an outstanding student. They do not care about students that are less than what they think about outstanding.

I have one graduate and one student currently attending HSE High School. This school has so much to offer! There are challenging academic programs with a variety of concentrations, and more AP classes available than at any other school in the area. My oldest transferred in as a sophomore and found many ways to get involved. In particular, the choral music program has been a gift for both of my kids (a boy and a girl). With over 200 students in the program, there is a place for every level of ability. The spotlight in this program is on the kids and on the four shows they put on each year. These shows are so high quality with all the choreography and costumes - truly a joy to watch! They consistently sell out in advance. I've been attending for four years now. The two directors set the bar high for these students, and the students rise to the challenge. The directors lead with integrity and professionalism and create a positive atmosphere for the students. We are lucky to have such excellent teachers!

Both my children graduated from this school. They hated it. If you have academically gifted children then you will be very happy with this school. This is not a good school for those children that think "out of the box". This school has a zero tolerance level for children who are perceived as different. If I had to do it all over again I would not have sent my children to this school.
