My children went here for one school year, and it was one school year too many. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing regarding identifying and treating learning differences/disorders. They are pumping out illiterate children. To add insult to injury, it is obvious that White boys are NOT WELCOME here. My child was accused of unfounded racism and then was shunned and mistreated by his classmates over something he did not say. Do not attend this school unless you are a person of color. Otherwise, you will neither be accepted nor wanted there.

I have three boys all in school. This is one of the worst school districts I have ever experienced.

This is a terrible school, and it's one of the best in Fayetteville. We didn't know just how bad it was until moving to Arizona - a state with some of the worst schools in the nation - and the worst elementary school here is tremendously better than the best in Fayetteville. After the new principal came in and left last year (she only lasted for one year), there was a mass exodus of teachers. The vice principal also left, and he was the only school administrator that seemed to care about the children. The teachers are mean to children - they yell loudly and you can hear it in the hallway. They enforce "silent lunch," during which children are not permitted to talk. Some children are made to sit by themselves (at an entirely different table than their classmates) at lunch with their heads down unless they are eating. They use the Class Dojo system, which is fine - but they display all the kids' "Thumbs Down" on the board and compare which children are "worse."The kids are wild, which is normal... but they're wilder than they need to be because the teachers do not treat them with respect. This school is awful. Dr. Hill is no longer there - hasn't been in years - and the school has been on a downward spiral ever since.

By far, the best Elementary school in Cumberland County. I moved my son to Howard Hall in the 2nd grade and he has had the best teachers. Ms. Glover, Ms. Bryant, and Ms, Latney have been a God send. My child has been excelling and is always excited to get up and go to school each day. My hat is off to Dr. Hill and her wonderful staff for continuing pushing the children to always do their best. I love this school.

I would like to commend Dr.Hill and the Staff of Howard Hall Elementary. I quickly learned how Blessed my daughter and I were to have attended HHEMS. From 1st-4th grade my daughter had some of the best Teachers ever(Maultsby, Smith, Barbee and Latney), where she thrived on the education and atmosphere; while maintaining Str8 A's. Due to family relocating, my daughter had to attend Overhills Elementary. What a wasted school year...No AR or AM, no school band, no Beta Club, no AIG(only on paper), only math homework(at times), only two simple projects all year, and I couldn't Remember the Principal's name during conversations. My daughter still remained on the Principal's List(srt8 A's),only because of the work HHEMS and I had provided.. Thanks Dr.Hill and Mrs. Robinson for allowing my child to "Walk with Her True Class." HHEMS have True Leaders for our Children.

This school is a wonderful! And the staff is awesome, Mrs. Hill and her staff have made this school a great learning experience for my daughter, who is in the Spanish Immersion program. The children enjoy their teachers and they enjoy attending school. I only wish continued success for Howard Hall and the students.

Howard Hall is incredible. My oldest has been attending since 2010, and I am sad that we have to move out of state and wish Howard Hall could just go with us! Mrs. Hill is an amazing principal and it's easy to see how much she genuinely cares for all of her students. The administrative staff and teachers are fantastic as well. My children love this school and we are thankful for having them in our lives for the last few years. Truly a great school and great people in it.

At first I thought this was a great school. But I was wrong at all fronts. I used to go here when I was in second grade until I transferred to Long Hill elementary after my only school year here. I had to move to another school after my second grade year because my former teacher, Mrs. Maultsby, was cruel to me, never letting me have freedom. I also was sick and tired of uniforms. This may be a good school for kids with other teachers, but with my old teacher from that year, your happiness will be thrown out the window....for good until u transfer.

If I could give negative stars, I would. This is a No Child Left Behind school. So, if you have a child that is ahead, don't count on them to continue. Programs are designed so all students will graduate. Our child has never had below an A until she started attending Howard Hall. Now that we have moved, it has been showing not just our daughter, but our son. Our children was given work that they had previously done from a different school, but instead of the teachers (several) giving them new material to learn, everyone was kept on the same pace. Why, I call it No Child Left Behind. This is even after numerous visits with the teachers and the principals. I learned the hard way why Fayetteville had so many private schools, because the public ones are horrible to say the least. Yes, we spend at least 1 hour per day with our children on schoolwork.

I must say I am really impressed with Howard Hall. My son is in third grade and has had an awesome experience this school year. There were a few situations that occurred this school year but were all handled in a professional manner. I love the involvement of the principal and staff. I have twins that will be attending school there next school year. I'm excited to have them entering into the Spanish program for kindergarteners. I love the updates by phone regularly. My son teacher is very enthused about teaching which in turn makes the students excited about learning. When we moved to NC I could not get my son to pick up a book but now I can't get him to put them down. Thanks Howard Hall for your outstanding service this school year.

We were some what hesitant coming to this area because of the school. We did not know much. However, we took a leap of faith and are so happy we did. Just as the local communities are experiencing huge growths, so it Howard Hall... BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS. All for the good.
