Been bringing my two kids here over the past 4 years. Great school and great teachers. The individual who posted negatively should not be taken seriously. She is unstable and had to be removed from the school by the police department.

The administration & staff are not welcoming at all and sorely lack in providing open communication with the parents. Being new to school, we had expected/heard wonderful things about NSS - yet to be seen. COVID has changed how schools operate, however, picking up a student is so impersonal - push the buzzer, announce who you are picking up, sign them out in a book outside and continue to stand outside. Last year our previous school allowed parent(s)to wait in the office giving you the opportunity to meet office staff and build a relationship. NSS is not a diversified school. Being a student in the minority definitely has its issues. One issue snowballs into bigger issues many of which should never have to be escalated to a level that is not necessary, or other issues that need to be addressed that have caused harm or discomfort for your child are ignored. Hoped to provide the best for my family but sadly it hasn’t been given in return.

We have been at the school for 2 years and will be moving out of district over the summer. I know our son will be sad to leave, as he's had a great experience at the school the past couple of years and has made a lot of good friends. The teachers are great - his second grade teacher in particular (unfortunately, she is retiring at the end of the year). It has made all the difference for him since he's had some awful teachers in the past. It's a really nice little community with a big heart, somewhere our son has felt secure and happy. There s some room for improvement with the curriculum, but I think overall the school has done a fantastic job!
