This is a pretty good school I graduated from her and everything about this place is wow the food is ummmm edible the teachers are amazing and there are no fights. The PTA is good they have events that help raises money for the school and put a lot of effort into their projects. But on problem I think they need to fix is the substitute teacher they higher they aren't that nice and every sub that I had at that school was either rude, strict,or didn't even tech they would just sit there and have you do a lesson without even explain I remember one time my sister had said one of them yelled at her friend for spilling water WATER!!!

My daughter went to school k-5 at KI Jones and has recently transitioned to B Gale for Middle School. I love and adore teachers at KI Jones. You can see their dedication to their students. It's shows! A couple of the teachers do afterschool programs for kids with dance classes. They have robotics program, music, and chess club. Highly recommend this school

My son was in the GATE program from 3rd to 6th grade. I highly recommend this school if your child is GATE identified. The GATE teachers are highly qualified (except for one 4th grade teacher that rumor has it will be retiring); thus, they have their curriculum down to an art. The needs of the gifted are unique so there are numerous projects & opportunities for the students to "work outside the box," whether it is in groups or cross grade levels. My son thrived here. He had no problems with safety, bullies etc. Band came in first place two years in a row with an on site, outside vendor (Music Matters.) Overall, great school.

We loved our daughters Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Stuart. We had a bad experience with here First grade teacher Mrs. Anderson. I had heard that she was a mean teacher from other parents but I left her in that class hoping it would be fine. We had a few issues. I think half of them could have been avoided if she had more patience with the students. We had to move and she has a new teacher. We have had NO issues with the new teacher. Academically the school is amazing. I felt my daughter learned a lot. Most of the teachers are amazing. I only heard good things and experiences from other parents I talked to. I would recommend this school to anyone. I would just say to avoid certain teachers if you can.

I graduated from K I Jones about 3 years ago and I loved the school. I had friends to hang out with and great teachers I could always approach. The neighborhood I always though as safe, and I don't think that has changed. The activities the students can do are great, like the walkathon (I think they still have that) and the raffles and all. The parent teacher nights were always great because you can go see your old teachers and talk to your current one about your grade and how they think you have been doing in class. The parents also really benefit from it. Just make sure you catch the teachers before it ends otherwise they will be gone if you try to catch them even a minute after it all ends. Some teachers stay there for a little longer and pack up or talk to other parents, but some do leave right away. As a whole, I love the school. I recommend the school to anyone who's looking into the gate program or the regular program they have. Ps. The library was one place I always loved, and if you go there, please (!) participate in the penny drives and heather house drives if they still do those types if things.

I see totally dedicated teachers, office staff, and classified employees that work their tail ends off to meet all of the frequently changing requirements from the state and district. We keep juggling state test demands with meeting individual learning requirements for students. Many personnel are at work 45-60 hours a week---usually without overtime pay ( not to mention the hours at home).

K.I Jones is absolutely awesome! I have moved to this school for GATE in 5th grade (I was in GATE ever since 3rd but my old school did teach anything differently for non gates to gates) and I am so glad I did! The teachers are hilarious but also on task. I sure have learned a lot more here then my old school!

Crowded classrooms, overworked teachers, they put lots of emphasis on standardized test performance and not real learning.

My wife and I sent two children through this school over a period of 13 years. Both of us volunteered at many school activities and enjoyed many happy hours volunteering in the classroom. While there are always bumps in the road, overall we were consistently impressed with the dedication and quality of the teachers as well as the staff. The school also enjoys a nice location next to a park, deep in a quiet residential area that allows many of the children to walk to school. In short, we loved K.I.

I am an alumni of K.I. from 2002-2010. I attended for all seven years the last four of which were spent in the GATE program. If your student has been offered to test for this program please consider it. I found that the GATE program was one of the most important building blocks in my education aside from high school. All of the teachers are very friendly and willing to spend one on one time with students when necessary. I often visit some of my old teachers because I of the admiration that I have for them. I <3 KI and would go back today if I could!

My daughter really enjoys the GATE program. although I'm often surprised by the sheer volume of homework she is responsible for every night. I agree that the kindergarten program is way too crowded and rigid... but seems to be a nice school for the upper grades and a great GATE program.
