I had the unfortunate experience of sending my child to Green Valley Middle School in Fairfield, California, and I cannot express how utterly disappointed I am with the overall quality of education and the school environment. It's quite evident that the staff at Green Valley Middle School lacks dedication and competence. Firstly, the communication from the school is abysmal. Important information is rarely conveyed to parents, and when attempts are made to contact the administration, it feels like you're speaking into a void. It's as if they don't care about keeping parents informed about their child's education. The teachers seem disinterested and unqualified. My child's academic progress suffered due to the lack of effective teaching methods and the apparent lack of passion from educators. It's disheartening to see such a disregard for the students' learning experience. The facilities are in a sorry state. The classrooms are outdated, and the school lacks essential resources. It's as if the administration is more focused on cutting corners than providing a conducive learning environment for the students. Moreover, the bullying problem at Green Valley Middle School is rampant and seems to be overlooked by the school staff. It's astonishing that they can't maintain a safe and secure environment for their students. In summary, I would strongly advise against enrolling your child at Green Valley Middle School. It's a place that seems to care more about bureaucracy than the well-being and education of its students. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment by considering other, more reputable educational institutions in the Fairfield area.

Fantastic school in a fantastic neighborhood. Not sure why the rating isn't higher, the test scores and the fact that all the kids go into Rod and Rod's test scores and college readiness are super awesome. It all indicates this is a great school with great students.

My friends got sexually assaulted and mentally abused and when we spoke out a year a year later with some of my new friends who had recently been assaulted and the counselor did nothing and told us that she didn’t can that we where mentally abused and sexually assaulted and that we should forgive him and that he’s a new person. Also he’s been following us at school. I find this so wrong that we are emailing the principal again about how we were assaulted.

gvms is an okay school itself, but the students are typically rude and disrespectful to pretty much everyone and they ruin it. At first, the school was great the first year with only minimal amounts of bullying but it gets far worse when you gain more popularity. Bullying, drug use, children doing bad things whilst in relationships with one another (dating type relationships) is something I’ve found is very common at this school. There’s drama 24/7 and it always ends up getting passed around the whole school. Not to mention multiple terrible teachers and campus monitors that treat the students with disrespect and practically do not even know how to teach. I’ve also found that some of the campus monitors are extremely disrespectful and put their hands on students, as well as acting like they have more authority than they really do.. And they get away with it. Overall, okay school but some of the students & some teachers/campus monitors make it a bad experience.

From my experience at this school, the education and ways of teaching are pretty good. There's A LOT less bullying than I've experienced at my past school and very few fights that occur. Overall, i highly recommend.

We registered our child for band, and the school decided to give our child an alternate course. We were told it's first come first serve and that she's new so there is no guarantee to get in. First, we registered our child before the deadline. Some of us are extremely busy and we try to do what we can, but it should not be a competition that people should have to rush to get it done. Secondly, this is a public school. All children should have equal opportunity, new or old. We pay tax just like everybody else. Our child loves music and would love to participate in musical events, but now she may not have that chance at all. Provided that we do understand that there is a limit to a class size, why not go with a lottery system.

Administration and teachers appreciate when parents are actively supporting students - online grade book, teachers who will email with parents to discuss academic concerns and support for kids who are still finding their groove. GVMS has been a great for both my students.

Administration and teachers are supportive of families. They think how to help a student long range rather than just for that day.

I am thrilled with the leadership at Green Valley Middle School. There is excellent communication between the administration, teachers and parents. I am always aware of what is happening at the school, and my concerns are always addressed by either a teacher or an administrator. I feel that there is a concerted effort from the administrators to be positive and supportive, and to always praise positive behaviors by the students. Mrs. Cherry has been an outstanding principal; always fair, supportive, challenging and helpful. She and her staff work hard to make sure all students are both challenged and supported. I couldn't be happier.

This school is good to the kids they like, however, if they don't like the child, the child gets shut out, or is made out to be a problem child. There have been multiple issues with this school. They just don't seem to look at the big picture. They live in their tiny little powerful bubble and shun anyone who doesn't walk in their path. It is very disappointing that they will willingly let a child fall without trying to help before it gets too far.

I have a son who attended GVMS and now a daughter. The teachers are amazing and the administration is wonderful. Mrs. Cherry has the best interest of every student in mind in all decisions she makes. She is a kind, warm, person who wants all of the students to be successful.

My oldest daughter went to this school in 2011 and at the time I would have given it 5 stars when Mr. Hubbs was principal. Can't say enough good words about him and how he worked with my daughter and her needs. Always so patient and very respectable. Now...not so much. The new principal Ms. Cherry is awful. Not too sure how she even became principal in the school when she doesn't know how to listen. My daughter was accidentally hit in the eye by a student and when I asked Ms. Cherry what happened, all she did was accuse my daughter of being upset and telling her she needed to get over it and move on. Excuse my daughter Ms. Cherry for being upset that she got punched in the eye and was hurt from getting hit. Rather have a little empathy for a 12 year old girl who was clearly upset she got hurt and her glasses broken, Ms. Cherry did nothing but focus on accusing my daughter of not being able to get over the situation. Ms. Cherry I recommend you go back to school to learn some listening skills and maybe go to an attitude adjustment class as your hostile attitude towards my daughter was clearly unacceptable. My daughter did not deserve your hostility towards her. Had you tried to just take a second to try and listen, you would have realized my daughter never accused the other student of hitting her in the face on purpose, it was me, her mother, who just wanted to get a clearer understanding of how my daughter ended up getting hit in the eye and her new glasses getting broken. Unfortunately, I couldn't even get a word in as you were too busy raising your voice at my child. What a shame such an excellent school ended up with a bully of a principal.

My son loves Mr. Morace's English 7 class. He always talks about how Mr. Morace makes the class fun and engaging. He looks forward to his class each day.I myself have found Mr. Morace to be an excellent teacher that loves what he does and shows interest in each and every student. He has gone above and beyond in keeping me abreast of information such as quizzes, exams, and has always found time to answer my emails. You can't get better than Mr. Morace! Thank you Mr. Morace for keeping our kids engaged!

This is a overall good school. Their disciplinary actions are very unreasonable. Once I got a refurl for going to bathroom without a pass. Their rules are way too strict! If the school didn't give out so many refurls, it'd be WAY better!
