This school is not as bad as they say. it is getting a new building and new improvements. the food is kind of bad but you can always bring your own type of food. they have 2 medium sized areas were students can play and a basketball court with nets. most of the teachers are pretty chill and they teach in fun ways. there are also no bullies in this school so it is a safe place for students.

They promote your goals in education, and assist you in getting accepted in college. They are very supportive by giving you many opportunities throughout the day to complete your work. Most of the teachers are approachable and helpful towards the students.

We are almost finished with my daughter's first year at MIT and in middle school. I am very pleased with the care and attention of both the teachers and administrators. She has been given a wide variety of classes that have challenged her and encouraged her to meet those challenges with a positive attitude. I am confident she will continue to thrive and prepare for the upcoming steps in her education. The no nonsense and no-zero policy make the students accountable and they earn every point towards their GPAs.

Students misbehave and film each other and post on the media. They also threaten staff by positing pics of them on the media. The students who are unruly and not respectful overrun this school. I would advise the school board NOT to renew the charter for MIT. The students should be smart enough to realize their school is up for renewal.

While this school's campus is a bit run down, the education is first class and the learning environment is caring and nurturing. I have found the teachers to be very energetic and committed, as well as being exceptional educators. The school also does a good job of integrating technology into their learning processes.

It is my daughters first year at MIT and I am so far very pleased. the school looks like its not so great on the outside, mostly dirt, and not well kept grounds. I think the real test of a school is what happens on the inside, in the learning environments. As a student my daughter feels safe and like she is learning. As a parent I sometimes feel like there is a hint of chaos mixed in with the best of intentions. The director is a very nice man, he does a good job of keeping things going I think. They offer a great deal of programs that you just will not find at Vallejo's public schools. Like FREE before and after school care programs! With out this program, it would be almost impossible for us to have her attend MIT. They offer great things in these after school programs like , guitar lessons, computer training, FREE tutoring, Karaoke class, Wii Fit, and outdoor fun as well. It is a good place for kids to learn and to become friends. One of the things I love is that the school starts at 6th grade and continues thru 12th grade! They offer a guaranteed spot to younger siblings as well. This is a good school, and they are trying to do something different and better for my child.

As a parent of a middle schooler for the past two years I have mixed feelings about the school. One the one hand some of the teachers are amazing on the other, not so much, and definitely not responsive. The administration, although new and has good ideas, i have not seen any progress. There are absolutely no activities for students: band, athletics, choir, drama, anything for students to be involved in middle school. At the high school level they have the option to participate at another school in the area. Unfortunately, as my daughter tells me there are fights between Solano Middle School and MIT off school grounds. When there is a lockdown, parents are notified HOURS afterwards, not immediately. The ever changing dress code policy is ridiculous, now a patch has to be purchased to iron on the polo shirt. I thought sending my daughter here was a better option than Franklin or Springstown but now we are looking at American Canyon as another option...as we are not as satisfied as we thought

As a new parent at MIT, I am extremely happy with this school. The administrators are new (about 2 yrs now), the school is safe and the staff seems excellent. Of course every school has a few not-so-excellent staff/teachers but overall I have been very impressed by the curriculum, safety, dress code and improvements to the school. Last year, MIT tried to get the school moved to a better facility but were turned down by VCUSD and are stuck at a sub-standard facility. Hopefully, Vallejo Unified will make this right soon so MIT doesn't have to spend another 10 years in a temporary facility.

When I first came to this school in 2006, I thought I was coming to a school that valued the student and was technology based, which is what I believed I needed. Since then, I have been disappointed. The computer system that MIT is famous for is older than I have been here. The whole place is made of portables, which is especially horrible when it starts raining (e.g., mold growth, window and ceiling leakage). The bathrooms in the high school portion are absolutely horrible, and the only real way to get water is to trek all the way up to either the middle school, the cafeteria at lunch, or to buy it from student stores here. The entire system of school dances are orchestrated by two of the high school teachers, which will be leaving this year. The school doesn't have a high school feeling, either. We don't have an official sport or club system other than the After School Program. However, the whole place does have a small-town feeling and fighting is virtually nonexistent. But that is probably the only good things here.
