A great school in the area. My kids are joyous there.

I would not recommend this school to anyone who has a child with disabilities. I also wouldn't recommend this school to parents in general because they don't address bullying accordingly, fail to have a student councilor, communication is poor between parent-school and they are making dramatic budget cuts upon the new school year. Look around and choose the best school district for your needs.

The principle of the school is not a good guy. He has forced my daughter out of the school because he doesn't like me for whatever reason, maybe it's because I am a parent who will speak up and that intimidates him. My daughter was being bullied in the begining of the school year and her backpack was tossed in the sink in the girls bathroom and soaked so I talked the him about what was going to happen ever since he had it out for me cause he wasn't doing his job and trying to help the bullying going on, I actually don't think he did anything about it. My daughter was there on a variance and he had the option to kick her out when she had just made friends with all her kindergarten classes, and loved her teacher and her class is looping into the 1st grade together. She is thriving but now she is being forced to go to another school cause she was ill or late to school as if kicking her out is going to help her attendance? If my child is sick I will not take her to school to get everything other child sick, and make her miserable. I do believe this is 1000% him just not liking me and so he is taking it out on my daughter. I seen him yelling at the students before. The guy has issues I've never seen a principle yelling at kids like that before. He comes off attackingly instead of in a sincere concerning matter about problems. I would rate this school an overall 0 they need someone more fit to run an elementary school who can deal with all sorts of parents and not take his anger out through his power Of being the principle. Unbelievable.

It has been a horrible experience we are only in November of our first year and have experienced bullying and our child being injured with weapons by one child more than once, spit on, cussed and and hit. The child who is doing this loses play time and sits alone that is what happens to him as my child and others continue to get mistreated.

There are no recent reviews posted, is this school really rated a 2 out of 10? WHAT HAS THE DISTRICT DONE (if anything) TO IMPROVE THE EDUCATION IN THIS SCHOOL????

My daughter starting attending this school in the third grade and is coming back for the forth. I do believe the school teachers and principal are doing a great job with the kids. They are encouraging the kids to do more free reading then the school my daughter attended in Kirkland. Even if they have less resources. Having the library open during the summer kept my daughter encouraged to read.

All five of my children have attended Challenger, starting with my oldest daughter who is now a Senior at Mariner High School. We love Challenger! When we moved within the district two years ago we went out of our way to get in-district transfers so our children could remain at Challenger. The teachers are phenominal and the staff is amazingly supportive. One of our chief goals for our children is that they become great readers. Challenger has helped us achieve that goal. Three of our five children struggled with reading in the beginning but have surpassed those struggles with the help of their teachers and some of the great reading programs at Challenger (IXL, etc). One of our daughters overcame her reading struggles with the help of a summer reading program run by one of Challengers exceptional teachers (you know who you are :). We cannot say enough about what a wonderful school Challenger is and what an engaging learning environment the teachers and staff provide. Thank you Challenger staff!
