My daughter is about to graduate from Cascade and here’s my assessment of the last 4yrs. Safety of the students (from my outside perspective) is very high. I base this off their response to covid, multiple potential shooter lockdowns and they were proactively alert to my shy daughter being harassed. Teaching is hit and miss. The inconsistency of the teachers made it very hard, and if my daughter fell behind, not a single resource was offered. They will blindly let your kid fall through the cracks. The ONLY way to prevent this is to be engaged and check the grades portal weekly because of you don’t, your kid can fail w/o any intervention from staff. As a parent, I’ve reached out to teachers for support and been met with indifference, almost annoyance that I’m reaching out on behalf of my teen. Sort of like “your kid can come talk to me” attitude. Campus is aging but it’s okay. Definitely needs to be rebuilt. Overall, it’s ok.

The staff communicates well with the community. Many ap courses available as well as extra curriculars. Sports teams have been competitive and my son is enjoying his time at Cascade. As with most highschools, Cascade has its challenges, but for the most part handles those challenges positively and with a desire to learn and get better.

This school for my family and I has not been the best, being a minority in this county alone is way more of a challenge than I expected, being a black female in this school has been made me a totally different person, I've experienced racism not just from other students but the teachers have this underline racism, the other kids walk around with a sense of entitlement, if you are not from here, you will not belong here, I have been called racial names, by adults as well as kids, I had a non black teacher give me a peep talk on "how to be a better black woman" they have not minority student clubs, not student unions, they say they are against racism but provide no alternative no solutions to these issues. If you are black do not attend cascade!!!

As a former student of cascade high school I have seen multiple fights go on. The staff rarely tries to intervene with the fights. Most of the teachers will give out an assignment and then sit behind their computer and go on Facebook.

I go to Cascade, a lot of the teachers are indifferent towards their students and don't care about their learning and experience. A LOT of fights which the staff and administration don't do much about, also gang activity is present, which is not what a "school of pride" should have. After 2 years of attending, I am glad to be leaving to attend a different school.

Cascade is one of the better HS in the area now. The Parent involvement is poor on a whole but there are passionate ones that make up for the others. The teachers we have had contact with are all excellent! My son is actually doing better now than in Middle School. Athletics are getting better and the Choir and Bands have always been tops in the state.
