The teachers are awesome but administration needs a lot of work. Not diverse. Can be clickie. The Director, Kathy Curtz is the worst. Not very welcoming. They have to do better with discrimination.

My youngest daughter attended this school years ago, and it was the only time as a parent that I never worried about my child. I knew she was always safe, always being nurtured and cared for. Each staff member brough so much to my daughter's experience. She was showered with patience, love and compassion. Barbereux is a wonderful place for children. I would highly recommend it.

Barbereux has been the perfect preschool for our family. With two kids there in several classrooms over the years, we have felt good dropping them off there every day, knowing they were cared for, nurtured, and learning so much. They have learned more than we every dreamed a 3 and 4 year old could. They celebrate diversity, and welcome parents and relatives with open arms. I wholeheartedly recommend Barbereux to anyone looking for a true school for their young child.

As an educator, I can wholeheartedly recommend Barbereux. It's a student centered program with an emphasis on music and self-expression: that means life music exposure at least three times a week. Ms. Veda plays the drums, has kids imagine and visualize new things, makes them invent dance movements, play the drums with her, etc. There is also classical music and songs with the piano -- one in every room. The curriculum is theme-based. The classroom is packed with Montessori-like materials. Every day about 3 stations are set up where kids work on small projects. There are many collective, week long projects, such as building a space ship. Lovely, south-facing playground. It's an 80-year old program, so everything feels completely second-nature, down-to-earth. Very warm, friendly environment.
